<title>Prohibition: This was when the manufacturing, transporting, importing, exporting, and selling of alcohol was made illegal. The Prohibition had the intentions of lowering the crime rates, to lower taxes that were needed to support prisons and poorhouses, and to improve the health of fellow Americans. It was a thought that the alcohol was leading to the increase in crime, which would lead to eventually overpopulating the prisons.</title>

<title>Entertainment: The radio and the cinemas became a big thing. Just about every family had a radio in their home and most people attended the cinemas once a week. Charlie Chapman became an overnight celebrity and started the kickstart of silent movies. The movie theatres were looked at as more of movie palaces. They had a sense of royalty, completed with columns. Going to sports events also became a big thing. Especially going to see the New York Yankees play, Babe Ruth always put on a show. Football player, Jim Thorpe and boxer Jack Dempsey also were big sports celebrities as well.</title>

<title>Controversies: Al Capone was considered a controversy back in the 20’s because he was providing illegal alcohol during the Prohibition. He was a prime example of an (or the) “American Gangster”. The st Valentine’s Day Massacre was caused by him. </title>

<title>Personally, I think it&#39;s pretty clear that (most) Americans certainly were NOT open to change. I think the most perfect example of this would be the KKK. Those were a group of white radicalists who&#39;s feelings were hurt by a little diversity. And instead of putting themselves in the African Americans shoes, they got crazy. Starting taking part in hate crimes and doing nothing but disrespecting a whole race, is definitely going the wrong way about it. Quite frankly, I think it&#39;s embarrassing.</title>
