We have completed 3 class meetings so far. What have you learned so far in the course? What do you suggest that I do in upcoming meetings? How can I make the course better? (No need to write your name...)

I have learned about the varying factors involved in learning a second language, ways to incorporate students' first language in the classroom, and to pay more attention to my own language so that I can clarify different parts of speech for ELLs. I don't have any suggestions really, except to keep introducing reinforcing and practical applications.

I have enjoyed this class and I feel that I have learned a lot about how to actually instruct English Language Learners, without treating them like their L1 is unimportant or irrelevant to their education. I have always wanted realistic lesson ideas for teaching ELLs, and that is one of the main things I have taken away from this class so far. I think that the translanguaging lesson plans is a great idea also, and I like that we were able to work in a group on this assignment!

I have enjoyed learning how to apply English Language methods into lesson plans as well. Using WIDA and other factors have been realistic components since they are required in my field placement. I feel this class will be very helpful for the future. To improve ways of this class, I would provide more visuals and opportunities to practice what we are learning.
