However, we do (unfortunately) share the Homeric and Anglo-Saxon values of physical desirability and fame, respectively.  As an individual of a counter-culture, my personal heroes include musicians, philosophers, and environmental activists, such as Gillian Welch, Eckhart Tolle, and Joel Salatin. A modern hero has a good heart and pure intentions. As a society we value honesty, courage, transparency, and genuineness. Someone I admire is my aunt. She is a cardiologist and she helps a lot of people in her clinic.

As a  society we value each others opinions and try to respect what we all believe in. To me heroes are Drs, Nurses, PARENTS, military and really everyday people.

We do share the traits and values of the Homeric and Anglo-Saxon in today's world. As a regular, normal high school girl, I admire musicians a lot because of their music. They are singing with true passion and are very dedicated to what they do. They bring joy and this relativeness in their music, which I highly adore. Some artists, like H.E.R., Danileigh, Keshi, and many other influential artists bring simple words to life with music. Most people value those who are selfless and can use their qualities and status for the greater good. Firefighters are an example, as many are volunteers who choose to help those in distress.
