The kitchen cupboards were the shape of guilt, and his palms were oily with the
memory of what hed done. They must be sweaty, Liesel thought, for her own
hands were soaked to the wrists".

In this quote by Zusak, Hans shows just how much he regrets helping that jew with the bread.  Because Hans gave the Jew bread Max had to flee because it attracted attention and Hans feels a terrible amount of guilt after he ends up being whipped for the decision he made. Zusak says " the Kitchen cupboards were the shape of guilt." and " his palms were oily with the memory of what he'd done." Zusak is saying that Hans feels guilt and has blood on his hands and everything reminds him that he is the reason that max is gone and he is the one that will be responsible for his inevitable death. Even the cupboards remind him of that feeling of guilt and shame.
