Padlet is an excellent tool to formatively assess your students in an engaging manner. After you collect data, you can go over it as a whole class and move around the posts to organize and synthesize the data. This way, students can be involved in the analysis and provide additional assessment of their learning.

Create a new post by clicking on the "+".

Sometimes, I use Microsoft Forms to assess students on math unit tests. My goal is to create Forms for each unit's mid and end of unit tests so students get more practice using online systems before math state tests.

Right now, I use Microsoft forms to do an exit ticket, entrance ticket or online quiz. It helps with not having to read handwriting and all student's responses are in one place.

I have used Microsoft forms to give quick exit quizzes at the end of a lesson as a formative assessment. They are often multiple choice questions based on the lesson of the day. I used to do post it note exit tickets, but these quizzes are more efficient and the students get their grade immediately.

Currently I use IXL for many formative assessments and also to give students an opportunity to hone in on specific skills. IXL is great because you can assign specific topics to students based on their needs across all grade levels. Very useful for lower-level ENL students.

I utilize Blooket to track my students' progress in learning vocabulary at the middle school level. It is a good tool to reiterate and review the vocabulary over all but then I can make targeted lists that introduce vocab for the day. It also stores the data and shows me specifically which words the need more review with. I also use it for grammar concepts such as time, Ser, adjective agreement and more.

We have been using Microsoft Forms, and in the past I have used Google Forms as well to assess students. I have, once or twice, assessed on Google Slides if I transferred an activity there but like the self-grade feature of Forms overall. It also prepares students to show work. In math, I've always wanted to learn how to use and assess using Equatio, which is a program designed to make math on the computer easier.

I have used Kahoot as a formative assessment tool to assess my students’ progress in vocabulary, grammar, simple Arabic expressions and any needed assessment. Sometimes I use it after I finished the unit to check students’ understanding and collect data on the part of the unit that needs to be reviewed. And sometimes I use it at the end of the week when students are bored and need a change.

I use IXL to do quick checks for my students and see if they need a reteaching lesson. This way I can pull the students who are struggling into a small group quicker so they can get that additional support. I normally use this tool in math. We use it in ELA to review for an upcoming unit test.
