         <title>This is my blog about the film, &quot;Take Me To The River&quot;.  This film covered a lot of ground. There are two guys who show us some of the things we have been covering in science class.  Streams are agents of erosion powered by gravity.  A watershed is land that feeds a body of water. Water can sort sediments when it changes velocity. The slower the water, the smaller the particles that are deposited.  There are three factors that affect water velocity:  stream discharge, slope, meanders. As stream discharge increases, water velocity increases. As slope increases, velocity increases. Water moves faster along the outside of the meander, creating deeper channel. In a straight stream, water moves fastest in the  middle. Erosion and deposition occur in equilibrium with each other. When stream flows into lake, delta forms, bigger particles deposit first.  The two guys in the film explained how you can measure rate. They threw an object into the stream, and measured the time it took to travel the distance. The formula is rate = distance divided by time. They also explained that in a meander, the water is slower on the inside.  There is a difference in the kind of deposition you would find on the bed of the stream, if you compare the outside of the meander to the inside of the meander.  The agents of erosion separate particles according to particle size. They also go to English brook Delta in Lake George. The sand bar there is constantly changing.  Also, the steeper the stream, the faster the flow. As velocity increases, bigger particles are carried away. In conclusion, the film explains many different concepts and science vocabulary  terms that we have been  hearing about  in class.  </title>
