I still occasionally post on it (even though I know I should more) and I follow several other students from my class as we share good children’s book for our classroom. This is a shared space I would love to create for my students as well. I would have to get parent permission before but if every student was able to set up a book sharing account, I think the students would be much more motivated to read new books and to participate in a classroom literary collaboration. What’s nice about this is that you can modify it to fit your specific classes needs. If you are working with younger student, I would recommend having them, use an Instagram template. If you are with older kids and have gotten parent permission, I think they would be able to form an independent literary community and encourage reading for both themselves and their friends. You could also use the template if you wanted a singular book review. The app however would be good to encourage reading time outside the classroom. I would get permission from all of my students parents. The page needs to be appropriate for children by age. I would use an Instagram page for higher elementary grades. The main purpose for an Instagram page is to post homework. A lot of times students may have trouble remembering homework due dates and assignments. Explaining homework assignments during class wastes valuable time. An Instagram page that provides the resources and information needed for daily homework could prove to be beneficial for my students. Students are able to post questions, ideas, and get guided help by peers. This is a great tool to promote collaborative group work and encourage students to work as a team. I will be working with high school English students, and one of the classes I am most looking forward to teaching is Creative Writing. I would like to keep the entire page anonymous, which would protect student identity, personal information, and the like. I would also hope that anonymity would  encourage shyer students to post. In general, I will definitely utilize things like Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat for my future students. 
With Instagram: I can post general updates about important up-and-coming homework/projects, class events, and future field trips. Additionally, I can create projects where students make fictional posts portraying historical figures/events. Instagram would also be helpful with having a class-specific account where I can post pictures showcasing work (projects) for parents and family.
With Twitter/Snapchat: I can also use these platforms to allow students to pretend like they are historical figures.
With YouTube: Students can have the option to present projects in the form of video. I am going to use eighth grade for an example. My idea would be that the students could use TikTok to film their process in creating a painting. They could record things like the mixing of paint colors, the sketch they make before they start painting, and the progress throughout the piece. They wouldn't have to talk if they didn't want to, it can be very cool to just see a sped up video of people painting if that is what they want to do, and it would be short, about one minute long, so they can share it with the class and display their final product. They could put an appropriate song over it if they wanted to. If a student doesn't have a way to use TikTok or is not allowed to (I will have to ask for parental permission to use TikTok in the class and use a singular shared TikTok class account) they can use pictures or writing to document their progress. This lesson can be used and adapted for an art history, printmaking and graphic design class. The lesson would be catered to higher Ed students but could easily be altered for a grade level art class. Students will be split into groups and given a country and a specific decade, they will do research on that country in the context of the assigned decade and will create a Pinterest board of political and propaganda art made by that country in that decade.
Students will pick three pieces of art from their Pinterest board and do research on the artwork and groups will give a short presentation on their findings to the class.
After presentations, the teacher will give a brief power point presentation on the history and context of political and propaganda art, demonstrating that propaganda art has been around as far back as ancient civilizations. The teacher will open up a discussion to the class about the material covered and ask "what are things in media today that could be classified as propaganda art?" Most likely a student will bring up memes, if not the teacher will bring up memes and show examples. From here, each respective art class will move into their assignment. For art history, students will write a synthesis paper on the design elements and cultural relativitism of their assigned political/propaganda art in context of the country and decade. They will then compare and contrast that era of artwork with meme culture. For a printmaking studio, students will be asked to create a print in the same style and design principles of their assigned country and decade, but be challenged to incorporate meme culture within. An example would be a Russian Cold War era poster with kermit the frog holding an axe and sickle. A graphic design class would have the same assignment but they would be challenged with manipulating and using their software to create the same design principles presented in their political art references.

In particular, I would use twitter. I would have a separate professional twitter for students to be able to tweet questions at. Further, I would post important updates regarding assignments or what we would be doing in class. That being said, I'm considering the benefits of occasionally posting things about my interests and hobbies, in order to have the students to get to know me better. I know a thin line is walked here, so I'm still thinking about it.
