This is the day I finally reached sobriety.

Here, I made my first real therapeutic connection, laying the kindling for that first spark.

Like many of us, my job was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. But it also finally lit the spark to finally go back to school for my undergraduate degree. I ultimately chose psychology due to my past struggles with addiction and mental health.

Hired as a peer and qualified mental health professional, I got my first taste of working within the mental health field and absolutely loved it.

While it ultimately didn't work out due to external factors, I was fortunate enough to work as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Intern at a methadone clinic in Nevada. My time here solidified the fact that counseling was the career path I wanted to take, but I didn't know when or where to start.

In 2025 I began seeing a new therapist and began a new job as a peer support specialist working with outpatient clients. Both my boss, who is an LPC, and my therapist (LCSW) have been nothing but encouraging and supportive of my decision to return to school for a master's in counseling.
