  • Not only do spider monkeys serve as food for their predators, but they also help plant different types of plants through digestive waste.
  • I believe that spider monkeys are primary consumers. I came to this conclusion by using the process of elimination. We know that they are not secondary consumers because they don't rely on other consumers for food. They instead rely on producers, which in this case are the fruit.
  • An example of a producer from the food web is fruits. A type of primary producer from the food web is a sloth. A secondary consumer from the web is a clouded leopard. An example of a tertiary consumer is a hawk. Finally, an example of a decomposer is a mushroom.
  • Food webs are different from food chains because they include multiple prey or food sources and possibly multiple predators. But on the other hand, most food chains include a producer, primary consumers, and secondary consumers. They include a straight line going from the producers to the final consumer or decomposer. Food webs are more helpful because they show the many preys a predator may eat or may show the many predators that hunt a certain type of prey.
