Thorn: I feel one thing I could improve on is my time management, especially because we have more modules a week now. It makes it difficult leaving everything to the last minute, so I am trying to change that this week by starting early on my assignments.

Thorn: I would like to see more examples on each topic.

Thorn: The pace of things if you do not keep up can be stressful.

Thorn: I think that the fast pace of things can make it a little more difficult to keep up with. I feel I can improve on this by starting my assignments as soon as the week starts so I am able to get some if not all out of the way before the weekend. 

Thorn: Since there is around 8 assignments due per week and I am taking 2 other summer classes as well often completing my assignments earlier in the day rather than really late at night can be a struggle. I often get caught up in things or my late sleeping schedule has made getting up earlier more difficult.

Thorn: I can be doing better on the discussions. For the last couple of discussions I’ve said what I needed to in less than 200 words. That then leaving me to use filler words that makes my response sound not as well put together because I’m ignoring economy of language to hit the standard.

My thorn: My education, it is weighing down on me quite a bit to be the perfect 4.0/A+ student that im expected to be, especially when its summer when you're usually supposed to relax and take a break from school and studying.

Thorn: Something that I could improve on would be a little bit of my time management because at times I feel like I take longer on some assignments that should not take long because I get distracted easily. To improve this I could create a schedule and try to stick to it, in order to complete all of my assignments on time.

THORN: I enjoy staying up late and waking up early is a drag sometimes.

Thorn: As the class goes on I kind of push the assignments back rather than doing them early. If I fall behind it could be bad since it would be tough to catch up.

Thorn: A thing that I do need to improve on is not leaving my assignments till the last day to do. Since I work Monday thru Friday I have a bad habit of just leaving all the assignments starting Friday night through Saturday. So that is something I need to improve.

Thorn: The discussions are the hardest for me because I have to sit and think about what I am, going to be writing. Plus this semester we have three discussion boards that we have to write in and at times it gets overwhelming.

Thorn: I need to practice time management, and develop a routine to do my work. I also need to practice the DB submission posts as I am struggling to write something down most times.

Rosebud : I am hard working, always on time never late, stay organize at all time and I've been paying close attention in my social problems class and performing pretty well. I'm involved in the discussions since I believe the issues to be appealing. It feels amazing that my hard work is being reflected in my grades!

Thorn : In order to solve this, I plan on putting more time into looking into a number of sources and points of view on the topics we study, as well as practicing challenging and assessing the arguments put forth. 

Thorn: I could improve on the discussions better. Even though my grades are good for the DB questions I feel like my writing isn´t as complex and interesting as other students which bugs me. My time management for these discussions hasn´t been great. But I will solve this by focusing more and encouraging myself to work harder.

Thorn: I think I could do better on my time management. I tend to procrastinate on my assignments and leave them until the last minute which can sometimes lead me to make mistakes. I also think I can improve in the class discussions; I feel like I should maybe analyze more so that I can put down more in my discussions.

Thorn: I feel like since it's summer, my time management hasn't been very good, so I would like to be more organized and stop procrastinating.

Rosebud: The lectures are very well made and this has made me enjoy this class a lot more than expected. I have been paying attention to these lectures and have begun seeing a lot of the terms we have talked about come into play in my everyday life. I have also enjoyed reading the discussion posts as they help me see how everyone interprets the terms in a different way.

Thorn: I tend to leave the assignments to the last two days before they are due as opposed to doing them throughout the week and I feel that it has made me rush the class a bit. I will work on this and try to work on them throughout the week to really get all of this information to settle before moving on to the next lecture.

Thorn: My time management can be better and I need to stop procrasanating

Thorn: I could definitely improve on my time management skills a bit more. Although I have gotten better, I sometimes find myself to be distracted and take much more time than needed on certain assignments due to that.

Thorn: I struggle to complete the DB posts. The DB posts are always the last assignments I tend to complete. I do turn them in on time but very last minute. I suppose it's a bit hard gathering my thoughts into 200 words and reflecting them onto the post. So, it does take me a huge chunk of time to jot down my points. Therefore, I can improve my thorn by starting days in advance instead of on the due date. I can also start taking notes throughout the readings and lecture videos to help me gather my thoughts and complete the assignment quicker since I do catch myself constantly going back and re-reading to find something to back up my points.

Thorn:I feel like there is a ton of work each week and sometimes I don't think I can do it all.

Thorn: I don't have any bad things I'd say about this class I think personally me I need to mange my time better knowing we have a whole week for assignments

Thorn: Like usual, procrastination has been a real thorn in my side but it hasn't been too much of a hinderance so far. I admit that I contribute to the lack of progress on my assignments, but the heat really does make some days unbearable. Other than the heavy procrastination that's been plaguing me for these past few weeks, the class has been going fairly well as I still manage to turn in assignments on time.

Thorn: I'm falling behind on deadlines for the assignments which makes it harder to catch up, on top of my other responsibilities at home/with work.

Thorn: I procrastinate a lot because I have a lot going on and I have three kids to take care of and it's hard to manage my assignments

Thorn: I do tend to push off the work until the last couple of days, which stresses me out a bit. I need to work on spacing out my workload so that I am not overwhelmed.

Thorn: Even though most of the assignments are easy it gets overwhelming seeing so many assignments due a week.

Thorn- Im working full time and have been putting school to the side.

Thorn: I leave everything for last minute sometimes  which stresses me out seeing so many things due at the end of the week. 

Thorn- I am always having trouble finding time to complete all my work on time or not procrastinating. This is not specific to this class, but since I am a full-time student and work part-time at an overnight shift, it becomes difficult to manage everything and it becomes extremely stressful to balance. I also have a medical condition that inflames during moments of extreme and constant stress, so that's something I need to work on on my own. Regardless, this stress is not exclusive to this class, it is more of a personal accumulation.

Thorn: I love the textbook but I wish it was available in print because I do better when I can highlight it in person. I have a hard time opening the textbook on my computer and getting my work done because it's harder to annotate. That's probably on me though, I was thinking of buying an iPad because I have this same problem for all my classes where all I can afford is the digital textbook and then don't open it because it's hard to read on computer. 

Thorn: I have been procrastinating and it’s hard for me to complete assignments on time. I’m glad the professor allows late assignments. But I am trying to work ahead from now on.

Thorn: A thorn that I must fix is turning in the assignments ON TIME because of the busy week of volunteering has kept me away from Canvas, delaying the frequency of turning in assignments on time. I hope I can stop this habit and organize a schedule of logging onto Canvas and completing these assignments.

Thorn: I've had a much harder time staying focused on school and keeping up with assignments since the summer classes are so accelerated.

I love the way this class is set up and I think it's very straightforward. All of the assignments so far have been easily accessible and all of the topics covered have been pretty interesting.

Thorn:

I've been a very bad procrastinator but it's because it has always been hard for me to keep up with school during the summer. I've been very busy so finding the time to complete my assignments have been difficult.

Thorn: I was previously only working part time but have recently started working additional days due to company need so it definitely has taken a toll on my school work. In addition, balancing work, school and family has been a challenge especially over the summer. Summer semester is much more fast paced than I expected. I need to work on planning ahead and time management to allow adequate time to complete assignments.

Thorn: It is hard to not procrastinate. However, I do love the fact that if we miss the due date we are still allowed to complete the assignments.

Thorn: I need better study habits.

Thorn: I work full time, live with a disability and cant keep up with deadlines.

Thorn: Procrastination has been rearing its ugly head over and over in the past 8 weeks of this Spring semester. I still haven't fully recovered from the post Winter Break rut of laziness and an inability to appreciate gratification that isn't immediate or instant. My hope is that break next week will help me reset and really get me back on track.

Thorn: I don't have any problems with the class itself. Sometimes I procrastinate, but that is more on me.

thorn: I tend to procrastinate. I rather get the assignment done earlier in the week than the day or two before especially with my busy schedule.

Thorn: I do not have any issues regarding the course. Everything has been flowing as I expected. I appreciate the professors regard for her students.

Thorn: Due to taking this course in the spring semester, my schedule is extremely full from school conferences so I tend to procrastinate many of my assignments and complete them the day they are due. I am hopefully learning to get rid of this habit and have a day to myself in the beginning of the week where I take time to complete my delta assignments. I do not have any problems with the course. :)

Thorn: im super overwhelmed having 14 units and a newborn baby . she's 2 months and teething

Thron: I currently have no wifi at home and this is a problem because I do all my work and research on my computer. I can only do work if I go to a cafe to study or if I go to a relatives house. I make it work in the end because I have things that need to be done.

Thorn: I procrastinate until I have to do the assignment because I get busy.

Thorn: I am pretty unmotivated and a big procrastinator so sometimes I rush over assignments to turn them in on time instead of taking my time and retaining the information I've learned.

Thorn: My thorn would have to be how much I procrastinate. I find myself doing this a lot with all my classes so I want and will get better at it.

Thorn: I don't really have any issues for this course. Everything is pretty good.

Thorn: One thing I do need to work on is time management for not just this class, but all of my other ones too!

Growth Plan: I will set aside focused reading time, take structured notes, and use visual organizers to improve comprehension.

I'd say the thorn would still be how last minute I am with all of my work.

Thorn: I find myself falling behind when it comes to the text and readings.

Thorn: I wish I can improve on taking good notes because my notes do not help me understand the material. I need to learn how to take better and good notes.

Thorn- The only difficulty I have is that I tend to procrasinate and be organized and I nee to wokr better and make more time for the course ensuring that it doesnt occur.

thorn: i only have a little bit of difficulties regarding taking too many classes, but i am doing okay so that's good. i just need to manage my time better.

Thorn- There isn't any problems I have. I've enjoyed the reading material.

Thorn - The lectures are informative, but the only problem I have had is not being able to see the entire screen. For some reason I am not able to view the entire slides, or enter full screen mode to get the full picture with all the points being presented. If this can be adjusted, that would be helpful.

A thorn would be turning in assignments late

One thing that I can improve (thorn) is completing the work on time. I tend to procrastinate a lot and not get the work done, but its really helpful that we have time to complete the assignments and turn them in late. After this break I will start following the modules weekly and getting the work done on time as thats the one huge improvement I need to do.

Rosebud: I’m really enjoying the class. This is my second semester, and I chose Mrs. Ortiz again because I appreciate how structured and clear her instructions are. The class itself is not difficult; in fact, I find it quite interesting, and I get deeply involved in the subjects. It feels like I’m able to grasp the material easily and enjoy it at the same time.

Thorn: One thing I need to improve is turning in my assignments on time. I’ve been struggling with balancing work, mom and daughter life,  and school, and my anxiety has been a factor in that. Despite this, I am doing my best to keep up and stay on track. I recognize that I need to focus more on managing my anxiety and improving my note-taking skills to help me stay organized and keep up with deadlines.

Thorn: the reading is time consuming.

Thorn: Procrastination is one of my many weaknesses. I tend to tell myself that I will eventually "get to it later" but I know that I wont get to it until a day before its due.

Rosebud: So far I've gotten the hang of how this course moves. I enjoy hearing other peoples stories and experiences. As we go more into depth in this course, I've found it easier to motivate myself to turn in work before the due date to make it easier for myself in the future.

Thorn: Even though I'm getting the hang of this class there is still moments where my procrastination gets the better of me.

Thorn: Balancing study time with my other roles is challenging.

Thorn: I guess one thing that I could improve on is setting reminders when a assignment is due. I do one assignment and think I am done. So I do forget sometimes. Other than that, I am good!

thorn: Something I am having trouble with is time management and dealing with workloads. I don't know why I thought I'd be studious and took 15 credits this semester.. However, I'll know it'll pay off. I seem to be procrastinating with my assignment, often leaving them for the last day to complete.

Thorn: I would one thing that could improve is myself, and procrastination. Since I'm taking another class during this semester, and is always busy. As, well as the reading is very statistical and filled with percentages. But, overall everything is well for this class.

Thorn: There are a lot of things due each week, so need to ensure I plan my time correctly to get things done on time.

Thorn: One thing that is the thorn is learning to time manage for my education. I work a full time job and have a family. I plan to remove the thorn by writing down my goals for the day and implement my time management goals and do one thing at a time on the list and set a timer to stay on task. I think with practice I can remove the thorn and get better with my time management goals.

Thorn: The one thing I'm struggling with this semester is time.This was my first semester taking more than one class and boy is everything flying by so fast and so many assignments are crammed into my weeks. One of my classes ends this saturday and I'm sooo looking forward to it. So if I could improve anything it would be to give myself extra time to complete my assignments.

Thorn: One thing that I can improve on are the readings. Sometimes when I am reading, I zone out a lot. I can try improving this by possibly reading out aloud or by chunking texts.

Thorn: The one thing I'm struggling with in this course is keeping up. Because besides this course I am also taking four other courses this summer so it's very stressful for me at the moment.

Thorn: One thing I'm struggling with is keeping up with the assignments. Their easy to do it just takes away from the other two courses I'm taking right now.

Thorn, I am currently taking to other classes this summer, so I am getting really stressed with he amount of work I have in a week.

Thorn:
One thing that could improve is the assignments. Even though they are easy, they take a lot of time to complete, which can be overwhelming when juggling other classes.

One thing that is going well for me is the amount of knowledge I have gained from this class. I really enjoy the videos that you provide. It helps me to retain the information more effectively versus just reading the chapter.

Thorn:

One thing that I feel could approve would be the amount of work assigned weekly. I do understand that summer classes are shorter than a regular semester so in order to cover all the materials it is necessary to cram per say. Juggling work, school, and mommy is definitely super busy but managing. Thank you for all the effort you put into this class and ensuring it is a great learning experience for us.

Thorn: I think I could improve on submitting my assignments as soon as I can when they're released instead of usually waiting till the day of to submit them.

I am really enjoying this course more than I thought I would. It's laid out perfectly for me to not only understand but also comprehend what I'm actually learning. The lectures are very informative and interactive which keeps me engaged.

Thorn: Although I do get my work done on time, I tend to forget to respond to my classmates discussion posts.

I am enjoying this course because I am learning about things that I actually care about. I also like the layout of the course, it's straightforward and not difficult to put up with, despite being an accelerated course.

thorn: So far, I have no missing assignments, but I do find myself starting on my assignments toward the middle/end of the week, and sometimes I can feel a little rushed. I am definitely going to be working on starting my assignments at the beginning of the week.

My thorn would be that I still procrastinate at time which causes me a bit of stress. Most often that has to do with the discussion posts.

Thorn: I guess a thorn would be the quizzes for me. Some quizzes are more easier to me than others. I guess I just need to review more prior to quizzes since there is so much information to retain.

My thorn would be that I am procrastinating once in a while so I should stop doing that and keep it steady by doing all my work on time with great effort.

Thorn: Nothing really is much of a thorn given that I have took this class last semester, having experience from that makes things much more easier.

Thorn: I don’t have much that I need to improve on, from what I know. Although I can be more engaging in assignments and DB posts.

Thorn: My thorn would be that in the discussions I wish we were able to discuss more things in the chapter and come up with new questions rather than focusing on just one. Overall this class is so important and I'm trying to soak in as much information as possible in such a short time but I enjoy learning about real issues happening in today's age and the history about it!

Thorn: There has been some family challenges that have made it difficult to feel like I have time in this current week.

Thorn: Sometimes struggle to connect sociological theories to real-world examples.

So far I am really enjoying this course. I love that each week we are able to cover different topics and discuss them with one another. It's interesting to see everyones opinion and outlook on things.

One thing I could definitely improve on is waiting till the last second to complete all my work. I tell myself at the beginning of each week that this time it will be different, but then I end up doing the same thing. This is something I have struggled with my whole life though, so hopefully I can do a bit better with this class.

Thorn: I find difficulty in staying on track when reading the chapters; furthermore, there is a lot of work to do in such a short time period.

Thorn: I procrastinate a lot with this class especially when I think I still have time to do all the assignments due by Saturday’s, I hope to fix this thorn of mine.

Overall this class is amazing and I learn a ton!

Thorn: There are a lot of assignments due in one day, which I understand is due to this being a summer class but the things due can sneak up on you.

Thorn: I have other college classes I am taking so I get a little stressed over the amount of work given. Another thing is that I get distracted easily and this is something I want to improve on.

My Thorn: I would like to improve on using theory and evidence to support my arguments, in my responses, I use evidence, but between the two, I should be balancing the two in this class.

Thorn: One thing that I can improve is time management. I work a lot and sometimes I can see my self procrastinating. I need to fix that.

  My Rosebud /   Since I started this class I have noticed I have a different outlook on people and society in general. I love what I am learning and find Sociology to be my favorite subject now.

  My Thorn / My biggest downfall is I am always so busy, not just with school work, but in all areas of my life right now.  Me and time management have not got along in the past, yet since I started this semester it is getting a lot easier , I use my scheduler and calendar notes , it helps me so much to remember due dates and times.    

 Rosebud: One thing that I enjoy doing is just the classwork. I find that it's interesting and I don't find myself getting distracted by outside things.

Thorn: I feel like I am often doing my work the day of the due date. I just have bad habits of procrastinating. So, just doing my work earlier in the week I think is something that would help me a lot more in this class.

Thorn: I wasn't used to having so much work being due, it's a little work heavy.

Thorn: Is my time management I feel like if I make enough time to do the assignments for this class I would be less stressed.

Thorn: I wish I could be able to be better with my time management.

Thorn: I am taking a few courses this semester that are a little overwhelming and it's stressful sometimes to keep up with everything.

Thorn: I found myself slowly turning away from assignments and becoming demotivated. Yet, I also wish I had taken more summer classes, which maybe would have given me more motivation to work.

Thorn: I have quite a lot of work to do and I have started procrastinating

Thorn: Working, taking care of my baby, and then school is catching up to me and I have started to procrastinate a little. Trying to get back on track.

Thorn: I should stop waiting until the last minute to do my assignments

Thorn: I work full time, and due to my stressful job as an RBT, I get very tired and procrastinate.

Thorn: While I'm still doing okay, my time management hasn't been the great this past year due to personal reasons, so I would like to get better at that.

One thing that is going very well or working out for me is finishing and submitting all my assignments and quizzes before the deadline. With the help of my notes and reminder app, I have been keeping tabs on all the assignments due weekly, which is great as my assignments do not accumulate. This has decreased my stress, bettered my work ethic, and time management skills.

Thorn:

As for one thing I could improve, it would be finding a better balance between my person life and my college life. I am taking three courses over the summer and learning how to prioritize tasks within my personal activities and school work has been rough. I've often found myself making bad choices as I have a habit of procrastinating and leaving things for last minute. However, I've been slowly targeting this throughout the semester and I would like to see myself make more improvement.

Thorn: The challenging part has been staying on track. This last year has been a challenge for me medically dealing with multiple chronic health issues but it is so important for me to continue what I started.

I enjoy how I'm being brought awareness to a lot of issues that I never realized were issues because I personally never had to fake them. It's good to be educated and know what other's may be going through.

Thorn:

I just need to manage my time better so I'm not doing these lectures last minute and trying to soak all the information in at one moment.

Thorn: Something I think that can be improved is giving a little less assignments. I do have a lot of work for my other class and with this class on tops granted it is just videos but they are very long.

Thorn: I need to learn to stop spending so much time on my phone, as well as taking advantage of the time I do have to do homework.

Thrown: Something that I can improve is my time management, procrastinating is such a huge thing for me, it is a habit that I am trying to get out of, it is hard with working and other classes to stay on top of. But as this is a compressed course it is my job to completely manage my time.

Thorn: For the presentations, it would be helpful to have a little more information on some topics to better understand the background and context. 

Thorn: One thing I could improve on is keeping up with the readings ahead of time. Sometimes I fall behind and feel a little lost during discussions. I’m going to try to manage my time better moving forward.

Thorn: I feel like the text is pretty old and out of date, even though its from 2012 a lot of the stats are already out of date, I feel like things have changed so much since then.

Thorn: That said, two-week chapters are rough. Two videos with a question I must answer, it adds pressure. Two quizzes. Two discussion posts, and two replies. Stacked up on the rest of my schedule/assignments, I've pushed this class to the wayside in favor of classwork with more demanding due dates. Which leaves a surplus of sociology for me during the weekend.

One thing that I would like to work on is to not procrastinate as much and not worry about my UC acceptances as much. I would love to be less stressed about it, but it's been on my mind ever since I've been at community college. I hope that I do get in to a school that would suit me.

Thorn: I'm doing well in the class, but I think I could improve my time management. I Sometimes put things off and could plan my work better.

thorn: my time management has been worse than ever, especially with having my newborn, I do feel like I am falling behind.

Thorn: I think I could improve on my answers to the discussions. While they answer the prompts they could connect to the readings better. I also wish to improve the quality of my writing.

Thorn: The one thing I would say that maybe is holding me back that I could improve on is my sense of time and schedule. For the first couple weeks I had it pretty much down, but I wonder if that was just a rise of motivation from the start of class. I’ve been getting my work for this class done fast, it’s mostly my other classes that I feel are throwing my schedule off.

Thorn: I’m taking a lot of classes, and though I really enjoy this one, I find it hard to manage my time and really absorb the information the way I want to.

Thorn: Funnily enough, I feel so comfortable and confident in this class that it takes a back burner to the classes that I don't enjoy. I know that might not make a lot of sense. I recognize that I need to make more time for this class and prioritize it more because I like it so much. I'm now making more time for it during the week as well. :)

A thorn would be keeping up with the dates and times when everything is due, and not forgetting to respond to the discussions of other classmates

Thorn: I've been committing a lot of time to my bio lab. I struggle with science and I feel that I'm not dedicating as much to this class because I'm focusing on that class so much. My schedule is busy working full-time and being a mother, I hope that I can manage my time better after this break.

I think this class opens our eyes and our minds to a lot of social issues going on within our local community and around the world. I enjoy learning more about what causes and leads to these social problems. This course helps students become not only aware of but also empathetic about the predicaments other people might be in whether by choice or not.

Thorn:

I still have a problem with time management and have trouble find the right balance for work, school, and life. I hope this is something I will be able to improve.

Thorn: I feel that a problem that I have is not fully sticking to the schedule I made for myself to finish homework on time. I feel that once I fully stick to the schedule, then managing the homework would be easy.

Thorn: I got behind in the beginning due to my living situation. So it took me some time to catch up. because I was behind in my other classes too. So i had to put less time than i wanted too in this class.

Thorn; My track of time is atrocious, while i try to complete assignments before the actual due date, I somehow manage to underestimate how much time i need per assignment and spend the entire day working on one subject.

-Thorn: One thing that can be improved within myself is not waiting last minute to turn things in. I am doing really good in this class, turn everything in before the due date but I wait 2-3 days before the due date to do everything.

Thorn: I have enjoyed the class so it's nothing against the class itself it's a personal thing which is that since I know regardless I have to turn in my homework I wait 1-2 days before it's due when I could just do it when I get it.

Thorn; I need to plan my time better because sometimes I leave my work until the last minute.

Thorn: My time management. I have always struggled with procrastination and with everything going on in my schedule, between work and my other classes, I feel like I have a hard time keeping up with everything. It's not really a course problem, rather a personal struggle.

Thorn: something I could improve on is doing more research about different things even something’s that I don’t necessarily would be involved in or spoken about just so I am more aware what is going on not only on a surface level but in depth as well.

Thorn: I'm taking a lot of classes this semester and overall have a lot going on. so my time management hasn't really been the greatest as of late. But it's still something I'm working on, so it's a process.

I like the way that the class is structured and how we have both lectures and readings to rely on to help us learn. Sometimes it's easier for me to absorb information when I am hearing it compared to when I am reading it, so the video lectures really help me understand the chapters better.

Thorn:

I sometimes leave the work for the last minute, which is something that I am trying to work on. It's a bit difficult to try to balance how I should prioritze certain classes, especially when I am working as well, but I have definitely gotten way better at it as the school year goes on.

I enjoy the coursework and I find it easy. I also like the fact that I am now equipped with the appropriate terminology when discussing hot topic issues.

Thorn:

I procrastinate, and I struggle with time management. I also have a hard time formulating myself, and I don't like the lack of engagement I receive on my discussion posts. There isn't a lot of meaningful discussions anyway, which is typical for most classes I've had.

Thorn: The discussion posts are a thorn for me so far but only because I’m taking multiple classes and I find myself saving them for last which makes me have anxiety when they all pile up before the due dates.

Thorn: One of my thorns is that i tend to procrastinate a lot, especially with discussion boards. I try to work out when to do each assignment with my other classes and sometimes I end up having to do them the day or even night they are due.

Thorn: My thorn is personally just my time management. I am taking multiple classes and on top of that I have work so I feel that I need to better my time management skills. When I feel behind on school work I get anxious and overwhelmed to so alleviate these negative feelings I need to get better at managing my time.

Thorn: I just got over an intense mental crisis that lasted longer than I expected. I really like the course, and I want to keep up. I'm trying my hardest to catch up, but it has been hard for me to concentrate and meet deadlines. But I am trying, really trying to pick up my slack for all my classes

Thorn: I could do better in managing my time and finding a balance when it comes to doing the things that needs to be done.

Thorn: I have a really bad memory, and paired with procrastination, I struggle with doing the discussions on time, but this is something I am personally working on.

Thorn: Life has been hitting me hard this semester with professional highs and recovering from personal events. Nonetheless immersing myself in school helps me navigate it all.

Thorn: I have been depressed this last month so it has been hard to get in work on time or manage my time better. Sometimes, I wish there were other resources I could use to learn, because having to do the reading gets hard. When I get through a few pages, I get easily distracted or reminded about something stressful in my life.

One area that could improve a “thorn” is staying consistent with keeping up on readings and fully engaging with all assigned materials. Sometimes the workload from other classes makes it challenging to stay on top of everything, which can affect how deeply I understand certain topics. Moving forward, I want to manage my time better so I can stay more consistent and get the most out of the course.

thorn: although this class is great for my pace and how I want to do things sometimes when its been a frustrating week I see the assignments and it just feels like a burden and more like a chore that a learning experience.

Thorn: I've begun procrastinating more than ever before; my will to keep going is shrinking smaller and smaller as the semester continues, and I'm just waiting for summer to begin.

One thing that hasn't been going well is my physical health. I had a muscle strain and have not been to the gym or played any sports for two weeks. I have also had bad allergies, and I feel like sneezing all the time.

thorn : Getting easily distracted with work and other things so I start procrastinating homework.

Thorn- One thing that's a thorn to me is time management, while I know things need to get done, I procrastinate a lot or simple forget and this is where stress can accumulate.

thorn: I havent been feeling to good for te past few months and it messes with how i perform in school. What makes it worse is that i do everything last minute.

Thorn: I really thought about it and I honestly can't really think of a thorn that's been poking me throughout this course as it's one of the courses I've been struggling the least with this semester honestly. I guess maybe I could go a little more in depth when it comes to my peer responses perhaps?

Thorn: One thing that could improve is managing my time and staying fully caught up with readings and deadlines, especially when I have multiple assignments from different classes. Sometimes the workload can feel overwhelming, so better time management and planning ahead would help me stay more organized and less stressed because I am a student athlete and Sunday is my only day off.

I think the best part of taking this class is the assignments and how simple it is to do them, And also how you learn so much from one video.

Thorn:

I would not say its the class in particular but I am also taking 4 other courses during the summer break so its kinda hard to manage and then having my daily life.

One thing that could improve is having more time to go through the chapters and review before quizzes. This summer I am taking four classes, so it can get a bit overwhelming to manage everything and keep up with all the work. I was honestly surprised by how many real-life issues are covered in social problems class and how deeply we study them.

THORN: I really can't complain about anything maybe just sometimes I can procrastinate but other than that it is all right!!

A thorn is balancing my personal life as a mom and also working full time. I tend to find myself starting the week off great with completing some assignments, and then completing assignments before the due date a day early.

Thorn: There was only one assignment so far where it wasn't posted into the modules and I only identified it when I searched for all assignments due. However, everything else is great!

Thorn: The pace that everything is going at and trying to keep up with both of my classes and work and many other things

Thorn: I believe what I need to improve is my time management. I know the work is a lot but its not much at the same time. I need to know what assignments to do on certain days to make sure there all done for the week instead of finishing it all in the last day.

I have really enjoyed the course material and have learned a lot more in depth about topics I already knew about. The material is easy to follow and comprehend. All of the topics we have covered are very interesting and relevant. I have been able to examine society and my life better since enrolling in this course.

Thorn:

This course is short and very fast paced. I work and have another summer course which makes it difficult to manage my time. I wish I could dive deeper into some topics, but the courses speed makes it difficult to do so. Once you finish one topic, you quickly move onto the next without enough time to process the previous one. I like to learn without feeling pressure or being rushed.

Thorn: my thorn is spending more time actually reflecting of the reading discussions. I have been more caught up on completing the assignments rather than engaging with the important material to use in real life situations.

Thorn: It would be helpful to have a quick, optional study guide or a list of key terms provided before the quizzes to make sure we're focusing on the right details.

 Thorn:  Because this is a short summer course, the pace feels very fast for me. It can sometimes be tough to balance the workload and find enough time to really reflect on the chapter and the discussion topics. 

Thorn: Assignments have not been hard to complete, but time can sometimes be scarce, especially with the semester being so short. Although I have been staying on top of my assignments, I know it would definitely benefit me to stay ahead to be safe and to allow me to revise the material.

Thorn: I feel like I need to get better at checking in earlier in the week so I am not cramming everything in all at once. I get easily overwhelmed and I am trying to spread all of my work out so that I can manage the work load better.

Thorn: This is just a nitpick, but I wonder why are the assignment dues are always on a Saturday midnight and not Sunday? Again, it's just a nitpick, I have no real issues on this because I procrastinate. I guess I was just used to typical due dates on a Sunday.

Thorn: It can be hard to manage my time with the longer assignments because they take longer than expected, and sometimes I fall behind.

Thorn: Sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with the assignments while balancing other responsibilities. Spreading out the workload or having reminders throughout the week would help me stay on track.

Thorn:

I don't really have anything on my mind really. I think I handle the assignments comfortably, but undoubtedly there are a lot of assignments, and I can see myself falling behind easily if I don't lock in and sufficiently manage my time. But this issue isn't really the professor's fault whatsoever. I do understand it's a condensed summer class!

Thorn: I think I could be better at responding to my classmates' posts. I tend to dread it the most which makes me feel bad because we put a lot of work into our writing and it deserves to be read.

Thorn: I feel like I need to keep up with some of the assignments which it's on my part since I'm trying to balance it with the rest of my class assignments.

Thorn: I need to improve on myself every single time I submit an assignment, I do not look back and read it for a second time which can create grammar mistakes and cause me to loose points other than that there is nothing.

Thorn:

Sometimes the workload feels a bit heavy when multiple assignments fall close together. I’m managing it, but spreading things out or having more reminders might make it easier to stay on track.

Thorn:
At times, the workload can feel overwhelming when several assignments are due around the same time. I’ve been able to keep up, but spacing out deadlines or providing additional reminders would make it easier to stay organized and manage everything effectively.

I enjoy learning the concepts and diving into issues or learning new facts about society.

Thorn:

Canvas genuinely has never worked worse. On the worst week to shut down in the Summer too.

Thorn: I wish there were more readings included in the modules like there are videos

Thorn: I could improve my procrastination in this course a little bit. I'm currently having a hard time balancing a full-time job, daily life tasks, and 4 courses over summer. All while having to prepare for nursing school next semester. And trying to enjoy my last break before being locked into a two-year program.

Thorn: I need to set more time to complete my assignments. I do get busy and tend to push things to the last minute which is not helping me and I could improve this bad habit.

Thorn: one thing that could improve is listing more examples of real-world occurrences or research. As well as trying to keep up with all classes.

Thorn: The issueI'm having is combining my studies, work, and social life. Work has become more challenging lately because we are severely understaffed, and we are having a hectic period at work. It becomes quite difficult to keep up with my assignments when I have a lot of things to do. Nevertheless, I am going to overcome these challenges and stay on track with my long-term plans.

Thorn: Canvas. I tried logging in Tuesday, or Wednesday, maybe even both days, but it bugged out and didn't let me in.

Thorn: I usually try to take a day off during the week because there are a lot of assignments to get through, but it doesn't always work out. I end up having to finish things at the last minute, especially when I have work from other classes due at the same time.

Thorn: However, I have been procrastinating a lot. I really need to learn how to manage my time and my work better. Trying to find that balance between being a mom and a student is hard so this week I'm going to prioritize more on my classes.

Thorn: My procrastination is still there with school. I need to learn how to space my school work out throughout the week. But work has been draining, and I did get hurt this week so I took a few mental and health days off. But we're still striving!

Thorn : One thing that could improve is I could have managed my time better throughout the semester instead of waiting until the last minute on some assignments.

I am learning new things in this class. The lessons and discussions help me understand the topics better.

Thorn:

Sometimes there is a lot of homework, so it can be hard to finish everything on time.

My thorn would be that even though all assignments are turned in, with school and work sometimes I find myself turning in assignments on the date that they are due. I should complete some midway through the week.

Thorn: Sometimes I have a hard time staying focused during some of the videos, especially if I'm already tired or distracted. I usually have to go back and rewatch some parts so I don't miss anything

Thorn: One thing that could improve is having a few more study guides or review materials before quizzes and exams. Sometimes there's a lot of information to remember, so having a little more guidance on what to focus on would be really helpful.

My thorn: sometimes the amount of work can be overwhelming.

I feel that this class is super easy to follow and it helps me learn more than a typical online class.

Thorn: there is a heavy work load and Ive been doing it last minute which is my fault .

Thorn: There is a lot of work and it can be hard to finish before the due date.

Thorn: Since it is an online class, I think more student interaction or discussions could make the class feel more connected .

Thorn: I know it's probably necessary but I would rather skip the lessons on sexuality, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Most of what was taught goes against my religion, it brought up things from my past, and I disagree with it statistically so I did not enjoy learning about that.

Thorn: Despite how step oriented the lessons are, there is still quite a lot of assignments bunched up together which can be overwhelming. Though, I am aware this is a summer course which is at an accelerated pace and of course, my own time management has been lacking since the beginning.

Rosebud: I thought I had pretty strong knowledge on most topics we have covered so far, and I still think I do, BUT I am still learning so much more and learning more than just "surface details" on a variety of topics, its been a weird combination of fun to learn but at times... sad to learn it!

Thorn: Its me, I'm the problem. I am horrible at balancing this new workload into my life and it is something I am trying hard to improve on.

Thorn: My own time management has been making it difficult for me to complete all my assignments. It's a problem I have created for myself so I'm trying to improve.

Thorn: My mental health often gets in the way of myself. I've never taken an online college class besides Sociology 1A and I can honestly say it is much harder than in person. I struggle with balance.
