They didn't really address the issue fully. I agreed that there aren't realistic ways to evaluate 21st century skills, but the other author really seemed to have their head in the clouds in terms of what could actually be used. I think a lot of these skills we already teach in hidden curriculum.

I love the idea of integrating 21st century skills into the curriculum! I think that it would be such an effective way of address the issues of students being unprepared for college and for the workplace after graduation. There are so many critical-thinking skills and social skills necessary for careers that need to be explicitly taught to students today!

I think that this should be implemented in some form because students are coming out of high school and are having no idea how to do anything practical or what they want to do. This problem would be solved if students were challenged to look into different fields early.

I think that 21st c skills are important. I think that they are beneficial to students in a way that goes beyond the classroom. My thoughts on this have not changed after reading the articles and discussing. We as teachers are preparing students for life outside the classroom, and these skills are a part of that. We cannot just focus on testing and scores. Students are so much more than a test score. We need to remember that.

These skills will help students in the long-run and we can integrate them into our everyday curriculum without setting aside specific time.
