The students would be able to continue to gain in depth knowledge about their core subjects, but also recieve practicle ways to use those skills in the work force.

I think that they are beneficial to students in a way that goes beyond the classroom. My thoughts on this have not changed after reading the articles and discussing. We as teachers are preparing students for life outside the classroom, and these skills are a part of that. We cannot just focus on testing and scores. Students are so much more than a test score.
