         <description><![CDATA[<div>Show the facilities to the language assistants. Tell them a bit about the pupils: characteristics, level of English... Show them activities we did last year and ask them to prepare some activities following those examples.&nbsp;<br>Santo Tomás: in third grade I played the star game. The L.A wrote some information about her like her age, hobbies... and the students had to make questions that matched the information. For example: How old are you? 15. Is your hobby Basketball? Then the students came to the board and wrote information about them and we played again. In fourth grade, the student asked many questions to the LA and I wrote them on the board. Then they answered those questions in a paper with a picture of a flag and colour it. Then they introduced themselves using the flag. At then end, a student chose a flag, read the info and the rest of the class had to guess the pupil.&nbsp;<br>Enxaneta: our L.A. prepared a presentation to introduce themselves. Pupils asked them about their hobbies and then we made the different groups that we are going to use in the following sessions. In those groups, the students and the L.A played a game "My favourite". It works with different shapes and they had to match the question with the answer. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The first day of the Language Assistants at Miquel Martí i Pol had the objective of students and LA getting to know each other.&nbsp;<br><br>Pupils were divided into small groups. Each group had one LA to sit with them and also had a worksheet with different questions they could ask the Language Assistants, such as their name, their age, their likes and dislikes and their favourite things.<br><br>Language Assistants also had a little script so they could use as a guide to ask questions to the students.<br><br>When all the groups had finished, they had to share the information they had learnt about the LA that was in their group to the rest of the class, so they could know them a little better.<br><br>We also displayed a small poster on the digital board with a sentence to welcome their presence in the class.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the first session with LA at school we are going to split the whole class in 4 small groups. The aim of this session is carry out a short conversation in the group. Each LA is leading a group and they swap groups every 10 minutes. In this way all&nbsp; the children know all the assistants and vice-versa. The LA and the children can talk about themselves, asking their names, families, friends, hobbies, likes, dislikes... Children are practising in class&nbsp; this kind of questions and the LA have a a guide document of possibles questions.</div>]]></description>

Que surtin contents de l'escola és imprescindible per al correcte desenvolupament de l'activitat. <br>També valorem de manera molt positiva que els alumnes que vénen com a LA siguin ex-alumnes del centre pels vincles que aquest fet ens permet tenir ja establerts i la motivació i ganes de venir al centre.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the first session the LA presented themselves, describing where they came from, their likes and dislikes, etc. Then each student presented him/herself and asked a few personal questions to the LA. The students found themselves that they had problems when asking the questions so they used the teacher as a tool to help them with grammar or the words used in the questions.<br>When we finished the presentation part of the lesson we played a few games with the LA.<br>Some students also guided the LA through the school because 2 of the 4 LA weren't old students of Montserratina school and it was good that they knew the school during their first day.</div>]]></description>

És important que els LA vegin que els alumnes volen treballar amb ells per sentir-se important. També cal deixar les normes clares (parlar sempre en anglès, intentar mantenir la distància amb alumnes que des del primer dia són molt propers...) i també que els LA vegin que les sessions estan estructurades però obertes a les seves idees. </div>]]></description>
