  • Hobbes lived till he was 91, while the life expectancy was at most 40.

  • He believes that the government should hold all power.

  • He also believes in strict laws, strong leaders, and stiff punishments.

  • He had to burn his own writings for his safety, so he and his writings wouldn't get banned.

  • Thomas was also seen as a threat to religion, but tried to prove his belief in God.

    <Hobbes became a tutored in England once he got his degree. When king Charlies was executed, Hobbes tutored his son to the point of friendship, which the text mentions later on that this would prove useful.

    <Hobbes makes a book which in its contents says that "people are naturally cruel, greedy, and selfish." This lead him to believe that people deserved a bad life as to what they did and how they behaved.

    <Soon there was an attack on England, which effected everyone. And caused people who believed in Christian faith to look down on Hobbes ideas (or see him as unholy).

    <In the end Hobbes grew older and was both ignored and hated upon many people. However, his point stood as to his claim. That humans should treat the rest of their kind with respect and not bitterness and/or selfishness.
