Emma's parents are very much into their physical appearance (dieting, skin care routines, and overall beauty).The main character doesn't share those same passions as her parents. When an incident at Emma's 10th birthday occurred, Emma's parents decided it'd be best to send her to live with her Uncle for the summer. Once she arrives at her Uncle's house, Emma gets introduced to his favorite cake shop. It isn't long before she too falls in love with the sensational bakery as well. Emma soon discovers that her Uncle is involved in an elite league full of bad malicious people. The remainder of the book revolves around Emma fighting off villains from her Uncle's league in order to defend the cake shop owner, and keep the bakery in business. Personally, I didn't like the book too much, because I don't like reading books involving magic, sorcery, villains, and fighting. The storyline was somewhat appealing.
