Fronts are the boundaries between high/low pressure systems or air masses. The weather is never good along a front but whether or not its overcast, rainy or stormy depends on the type of front - warm or cold. Cold fronts being thunderstorms. A weather system describes the air mass itself, low pressure systems are associated with clouds, rain, wind and heavy rain. High pressure systems are associated with nice weather.
