"'Every society that survived, survived based on its ability to train its sons to be disposable, " Farrell said. "Disposable in war, disposable in work — on railroads or oil rigs — and therefore indirectly disposable as dads. And in order to get men to be disposable — you couldn't get a man to be willing to sacrifice himself if he got in touch with his feelings — we had to disconnect men from their feelings and therefore who they are."

This article explores the male sexuality and culture from both male and female, and feminist perspectives. I feel that this article attacks men for "being masculine" instead of really recognizing that there is a problem coming from both sides.

This is an illustration that I found earlier this week while scrolling through Facebook. It is both funny and disturbing because of what it represents. On the lighter side, it is the ninja turtles being raised by Master Splinter. But the disturbing side is that Playboy helped to bring up the major porn franchises by introducing younger boys to pornographic/sexual content. So what I saw here was me, when I was 11 years old I stumbled onto porn while playing games on "Addictinggames.com" The game I was playing was innocent, but when I lost I went to press "play again" but an advertisement was hidden so that as soon as I clicked it it would send me to the advertisers site, which was porn. Ever since then I have struggled with porn, attempting to distance myself from it. This picture is meant to show Playboy like a "father figure" to the porn industry, but to me it shows a darker truth.

This article seems to be targeting feminism and the #MeToo movement from a direction that seems off. They postulate that in this day and age sexual freedom has changed the game for the worst because it made the default answer to sex "yes" instead of "no" 60 years ago. They also say that 60 years ago it was "assumed" that a woman didn't have to sleep with a man... I personally believe that their assumption is flawed from the start because it is outwardly expected that a woman does NOT have to sleep with a man in this day and age. Also, their assumption that 60 years ago it would be unheard of for a woman to be coerced into saying yes is also wrong... Sadly... I feel as though this article is attacking all of the wrong things. What do you think?

This article goes into great detail about sex in the Bible, and mostly focuses on Paul's letter to the Corinthians. The author relates the Corinthians life style to our own today, in that the people of Corinth believed that celibacy was highest form of sexual purity. But the author points out that Paul was not confirming this belief, but rather confronting such a belief. In the article it states that the highest form of sexual purity is having sex with your wife, not denying oneself his or her sexual needs. This goes against what Puritans, Mormons, and even a lot of what Christians believe. As Christians do we believe that sex even in the context of marriage should be celebrated? Or do we look at it as only for reproduction?

This article challenges what we are told by the church, and postulates the truth based on biblical accounts about what sex and celibacy truly are.

This picture represents something that I am struggling with, and I believe many men are struggling with. I discovered this photo while scrolling through FaceBook and think that it is a great example of how boys and men are taught to suppress their emotions, and be "brave" for doing so, or strong.
This has become more apparent for me this year because Ashley was hit by a car April 28th 2017. She is suffering from symptoms of PTSD, and is very emotional about certain things that remind her of the event. But, for me I have discovered that I cannot access many emotions because I saw them as the enemy, or as something that would break me. The day Ashley got hit, I kept telling myself, "If I break now, then I cannot help Ashley!" or "Stop! These feelings are worthless for the situation!" But the truth that I have recently discovered is that by suppressing those emotions I have only created a build up, and those emotions can explode out (almost like a self-fulfilling prophesy). I have also learned that the emotions that I feel are almost like dulled senses of what women feel, and I think this is because women have been allowed to express and explore emotions more than men. What are your thoughts
