- "Stella: Star of the Sea" by Marie- Louise Gay
- This book addresses creative and innovative thinking as it depicts a brother and sister visiting the beach. Throughout the story the little brother asks many questions about the ocean, the beach, and the creatures on the beach. As he is asking these questions his big sister tries to answer his questions the best that she can (comes to creative conclusions based on her inferences about her previous trip to the beach). This book addresses creativity and critical thinking.

This story is written as a poem and creatively explains the little boy's thought process as he is engineering and designing his very own care. This book applies to STEAM in the fact that it addresses how the little boy utilizes science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics in order to create his car.

- "Poppville" by Anouck Boisrobert and Louis Rigaud
- Poppville is a popular pop-up book that does not use any words. As readers read this book they are required to use their imaginations as they witness a major city being constructed with each turn of a page. A way that this can address STEAM is through the use of this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd2U4mN10gQ. This video asks questions about the construction of Popville that address the engineering process of making the village within the book.

This book addresses the processes or creativity and engineering in a way that explains that mistakes are okay to have. This book further explains and implies that the mistakes that readers make can still be used in the engineering of their product.

As students read this book, they are invited to lift the flaps that show what is inside the human body. This was a book that I used with preschoolers over the summer and they were extremely interested in its content. This book addresses the science part of STEAM as it addresses the basics of anatomy and physiology in a creative way.
