The most embarrassing thing happened one winter day. The night before we enjoyed a blazing fire in our fireplace. The fire went out. We went to bed. The next morning smoke was still curling out from our chimney. I called the fire department and begged that they not send a truck with sirens blazing but of course they did. They found no fire in the chimney or attic. I was so embarrassed. They were a bit peeved but all's well that ends well.

My mother was cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving. She would later take it to the theater where she works to share it with her co-workers.
She had set the turkey out on the counter to cool when all of a sudden, my cat, Giblet, hopped on to the counter. My mother saw Giblet, but it was too late. In the blink of an eye that cat had dug her mouth into that turkey and eaten a big mouthful. My mother started screaming at Giblet and off she ran with a big mouthful of turkey.
Mother had spent hours preparing that turkey and she wasn't going to let it go to waste. She cut away the turkey that had been touched by Giblet and off she went to the theater. Her co-workers thought it was the best turkey they'd ever eaten.

The banned book sat on the table in front of the boy. Shaking, he opened the cover, wondering what he would find. I was traveling through the 🌵 wearing my 👓. I was chill because I had 💾 all my work on my laptop. I was going to my friend's ranch. When I get there, I get a call from my boss asking me for my files, so I said no problem, I'll e-mail it to you right now and 😲 I din't pack my laptop in my car.
