Some of the big moments during the years in USM were unforgettable. I broke the USM high Jump Record twice and awarded Olahragawan once in USM Sport day. I’m part of the Champion Team of Volleyball Varsity Team in Sukmas for 4 consecutive years and won many title in open tournaments. I also represented Malaysia University in Asean University Games with a result of Silver. As an amateur high jumper, I took part in Sukmas once and got myself a bronze medal. This glitter in sport achievement has enhanced my confidence and nurtured my perseverance attitude which I think is an important attributes a person could have to propel future success in life. 

I started out my career with a largest Linerboard producer in Malaysia as Head of Chemical Section, took charge of Chemical and QA functionality. It’s a fusion of blend personalities where I’ve to deal with all kind of people. My communication and tactfulness in addressing issues is further enhanced. Critical thinking is developed and certainly become more mature. I left my first job after 3.5 years and joined the largest Pulp and Paper Producer in Asia. I worked as R&D Manager at this moment in time, research and explore the insight of essential science and technology to innovate new products (personal care segment) to fulfill consumer needs. R&D is a bridge that links the production and marketing, translate the consumer language into measurable technical index for product development, filling patents and trade secret to safeguard our invention. I am currently holding 45 invention and utility patents and developed series of products that contribute to more than 80% of total company’s revenue ( > 8 Billion RMB). Because my current job required me to constantly dealing with production, sales and marketing, account and finance, that answer the reason why I took up MBA program. I always wanted to know how a big organization runs the business in a holistic way, how each functionality couples with others to revamp the business. With MBA, I would be able to view the business in many different perspectives, standing from the various angles to generate thoughts to propel better ideas to strengthen business. Understand the behavior of workers, teams and organization in a more scientific approach. Knowledge of MBA is a good cornerstone for start up a new business and definitely a sublime of the experiences an entrepreneur’s possession. 

Before pen off, I would certainly work hard to acquire the Decision Analysis knowledge that I’m about to received from the course and hopefully will be a good fit for my future undertaking and understand more thoroughly in making a good decision variable when facing different constraints and different objective functions.

My name is Kai Hong. I was graduated with Bachelor degree of Engineering and currently working in Penang. I registered for MBA course back in year 2015 to equip myself with more knowledge in management and business. Through this platform, I hope to learn more from all my classmates who are from different industries and background. 

Nowadays, most people believe that technology can dramatically improve the way how the business operates. But they embrace technology with varying levels of enthusiasm. I am enthusiasm in technology and glad to see things become simplified. Since young age, I am interested in making things and find out how different things work.

Let me introduce a little bit of myself. My name is Azam Jamil and I'm a truly Penangite. Graduated with degree in (ICSA) in 2003 and currently living in Penang Island and working here as Corporate Secretary in an Audit firm in Georgetown, Penang. You know being a Penangites, you cannot escape from being associate  with foods around you, in any activity you choose to do. That's what, makes Penang wonderful.

My nature of work is mainly about organising meetings ensuring corporate compliance with related authorities, and to advise Board of Directors  on related issues. My company has a lot of clients from different background of  business activities. Understanding each and every clients  play a very crucial part especially when comes to advisory role. So being in that position I have to equip myself with lots of knowledge  relating to legal, finance , hr , and almost everything  that businesses has to do.

So by taking MBA degree,  it will help me to broaden my perspectives on this newly global business environment that are very competitive . Hopefully with the knowledge  and skills that I acquired from this learning process will enhance my decision making ability and able to see matters beyond the horizon.

A banker with appropriate working experience. I have been to various different discipline of this industry and was lucky to be given the opportunity to manage branches and regionally. They say, people are the most challenging form of management and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people that are friendly, supportive and kind. 

Success is sweet. And it is sweeter to see the people you work with overcome their fear of success and continue pursuing their dreams. I have a fair share of failures too. Failure is the best lesson one could learn from. In the end, failure teaches us to be stronger, wiser, and humble.

I look for simplicity in life but have the passion for knowledge, exploration, innovative ideas, sports and food.

Why MBA - it was the challenge I set on myself for my children, to inspire and to motivate them, in the pursuit for knowledge. I played drum with my son while my girl is on piano. I fence with my girl, while my son loves soccer and chess. While all of us are different in our passions, there is one common activities that binds us all. My wife ensures that the family involves ourselves in charitable work, wherether in cash or kind, within our means, in our little own time, in our little own way.

It is my hope that success follows all my fellow coursemates and our guiding lecturers, just like shadow follows it's master. I will continue to provide assistance and support to my fellow learned friends and lecturers in anyway I can, with the little experience I had, in anyway possible.

My family is my strength ...😍 

My hometown is Ipoh which a town full of history and eateries. I can’t stop thinking of hometown food since I away from 2009 to China, which was also my first time being so far away from home start looking for my dream. 

I was working in Sales & Marketing for an electronics manufacturing company in Shenzhen, China for 6 years. In 2015, I decided to take on another new challenge as Account Manager in a Contract Manufacturing Company in Singapore. My major role is to manage the assigned customer account from business development and to grow the business.

In order for me to adapt into the rapid changing environment and to take more challenges for self and career advancement, I decided to pursue further study in MBA.

Personally, I like to explore the other part of the world by travelling. It is always fun to experience and to understand the different culture, foods, religion and the uniqueness of the country.

At short, life is too short and it is supposed to be meaningful. :-)

Day by day.. as I grew up..the backyard was being reclaimed…Houses were built…The straits was so far from me…

4 years in Selangor....chemicals & greenery were in my daily life. Nearby town is famous of satay.

After 4 years. …I was surrounded by sea again. But worked at north…year by year…this island started to reclaim too….

1.5 years ago..I returned to south..it is still reclaiming…

North & south have few commonalities..nyonya baba, British style building & UNESCO heritage sites..

North durian is good..south’s satay celup is famous too.  

Why USM MBA? I surveyed programs in the market.. USM program electives..attractive to me…   

Why OMBA…the initial offer was in campus..before I started, opportunity knocked..I switched …& back to the south..
