Among its programs are Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Forestry, Hospitality and Tourism, Natural Sciences, and Information Sciences.

The College of Information Sciences offers

Information Technology

Development Communication

Library and Information Science

providing strong opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration involving technology, communication, information, culture, and community development.

COIL Experience

☑ New to COIL / Currently exploring and developing COIL partnerships

We are enthusiastic about exploring COIL as a way to bring global perspectives into local classrooms and create meaningful learning experiences without requiring physical mobility. We are particularly interested in starting with practical, student-centered projects that can grow into sustained academic, research, and community partnerships.

Looking for COIL Partners In:

☑ IT / Computer Science
☑ Education
☑ Communication / Media
☑ Library and Information Science
☑ Business / Entrepreneurship
☑ Agriculture
☑ Sustainability
☑ Indigenous Studies
☑ Community Extension
☑ Research Collaboration
☑ Student Virtual Exchange
☑ Faculty Development
☑ Digital Transformation / Emerging Technologies
☑ Artificial Intelligence and Responsible Technology

💡 Proposed COIL Project Ideas

1. Digital Solutions for Sustainable Communities
Students from different countries collaborate to identify a local community challenge and co-design a simple digital solution, such as an information system, mobile/web prototype, digital campaign, or community information resource. Teams compare how similar challenges are experienced and addressed in their respective communities.

2. AI, Digital Citizenship, and the Future of Learning
Students explore how artificial intelligence is transforming education and society. Mixed-country teams can examine responsible AI use, digital citizenship, misinformation, data privacy, and the opportunities and challenges of AI in their local contexts.

3. Stories Without Borders: Culture, Identity, and Digital Storytelling
Students collaborate across countries to document and share local stories, traditions, places, indigenous knowledge, or community practices through digital storytelling, multimedia, podcasts, infographics, or short videos. The project emphasizes intercultural understanding and respectful representation of local cultures.

4. Smart Communities, Global Perspectives
Students from IT, communication, business, and other disciplines work together to examine what makes a community “smart,” sustainable, inclusive, and resilient. Teams compare local community challenges and develop technology-enabled ideas related to mobility, disaster preparedness, environmental sustainability, public information, or community services.

5. Global Classroom, Local Action
Students collaborate on a shared Sustainable Development Goal and investigate how it is experienced in their respective communities. They exchange local perspectives, compare solutions, and produce a joint action-oriented output such as a digital advocacy campaign, policy brief, prototype, or community education material.

SDGs Addressed

☑ SDG 4 – Quality Education
☑ SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
☑ SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
☑ SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities
☑ SDG 13 – Climate Action
☑ SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
☑ SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

🤝 Partnership Interest

We are looking for international and Philippine higher education institutions interested in developing practical and meaningful COIL experiences that connect students across cultures while addressing real-world issues.

We are especially interested in partners who are open to small-scale pilot COIL projects that can be implemented within a regular academic term, particularly in IT, education, communication, information science, sustainability, entrepreneurship, AI, and community development.

Beyond a single COIL activity, we hope to build partnerships that can grow into joint research, faculty development, community extension, guest lectures, student virtual exchanges, curriculum innovation, and other internationalization initiatives.

We believe that COIL can be more than a virtual classroom, it can be a bridge between local knowledge and global perspectives, technology and community needs, and students and the wider world.

🌏 Let's connect, collaborate, and create learning experiences that bring global engagement closer to our students in the Cordillera and beyond!

Looking forward to meeting potential COIL partners at the Networking Fair! 🤝💻🌎
