Lady Seymour confesses that she tried to buy Isabel, but she never was able to complete it. This changes many things for Isabel and maybe even Ruth. “We two had no strings of words that could tie us together.” Why this quote is important is because, this could change Isabel and specially ruth by making Isabel not be marked and hurt for life, they could also be sent back to boston to search for their freedom, Ruth can specially be saved from being “borrowed” or sold. Ruth and Isabel would have saved all of their trouble if Lady Seymour would have bought them.

Many doctors can develop new medicine and new medical treatment due to animal testing. Animal testing is beneficial for both humans and most importantly the animals. Many animals that are tested, end up being saved, for example, many mice, and dogs were going to die due to having rabies but ended up being saved. Although many people disagree when it comes to Animal testing, people believe that animals are being mistreated, but in reality, animals are being protected. Before any animal testing begins, there are many regulations that the institution that is conducting it, has to go through. For example, the organization checks the institution, and who is conducting the tests. Animal testing is beneficial for humans and animals, they both benefit from each other when it comes to saving each other lives.

It hasn’t been the best thing ever. My annoying dad that doesn’t pay attention and embarrassed me when he was stealing food from 7 people and including his own son. My mom embarrassed me when flirting with the nice Mr.Frank who took us in, we wouldn’t be alive without them taking us. And then there is Anne, an active girl that I've grown to be close friends with. When My first time starting here in the secret annex I hated that girl, mean, and not to herself. But as time went on we grew to be close friends, until that one night where we kissed. I really want to leave this place. I'm tired of living in this closet, although I’m very grateful for having a place to hide. Where many people die every minute, especially in concentration camps. I have to stop. Throughout this metaverse unit, we have read different types of literature, for example, a short story, an excerpt from a book, and four different articles that correlate to our unit question of what do we lose or gain in a world dominated by technology. Throughout the unit, a strong theme has been reappearing that is technology vs nature. I furthermore investigated this theme and realized that it has two sides to it, it has a positive influence on many people in the world, but there is also a negative influence on the world and the people. The first piece of literature that we read was a short story called The Machine Stops by E.M. Forest, the second piece of literature was an excerpt from the book Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, the last piece we learned about in this unit was various articles on the metaverse. We have lost and gained new senses of nature, the environment, and the earth in a world dominated by technology.
