Q2: yes, and no when it comes to responding. In part because so much in higher education/education is under attack that advocates are stretched thin. The CSU alone is party to at least 25 lawsuits challenging the sudden policy changes come out of Washington. But it's not enough to stem or even halt the assault.

We're still finding our footing here 17 miles from the border. The YMCA and in Particular their regional VP of Equity and Inclusion Julian Villegas is looking to broaden outreach to communities. Other organizations are doing good work but fearful of being too open.

Yes/No. LA County/City HRC among other CBOs doing anti-hate work. However, the focus right now has been to unite marginalized groups and not explore pathways to building relations with conservative groups and citizens in the margins who are put off by left leaning politics but find themselves at odds with right wing rhetoric.
