Audience:
Age - 50+
Social Media Platform - Facebook, Emails, AARP's social media platforms
Message:
Oceans are vital for trade, travel, and transportation, and contain vital plants & animals that help us breathe, eat, and maintain balanced ecosystems.
If ocean health continues to die, our entire environmental system will be impacted. Ocean acidity will increase by 100-150% by 2100 because of plastic waste ocean pollution.
Ocean travel (cruises) and beachfront living/vacations will be eliminated for our current and future generations.
Action:
Stop using plastic bags! Instead, use reusable bags and bring your own wherever you go.
Communicate:
Take it back to the way it was in your day!
Images:
We would use infographics and real-life images to show the truth about plastic bag pollution. Some images may include an ocean animal suffocating on a plastic bag that thinks the bag is fish. Other images may include humans walking through garbage patches that wash up on the ocean and humans collecting tons of plastic washed up on shorelines. Images should include personal impacts on this audience, especially how it will impact their lifestyles (travel and leisure) and their children's/grandchildren's lives.
