The Quote "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." by Benjamin Franklin stands out to me most. It reminds my of a saying my dad would always say 'give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish he'll eat for a lifetime', which to me resembles that you can't expect everyone to do something for you, you must learn it yourself to discover true independence and be able to make change to other people's lives.

Forster stands out to me the most, as it not only tells us that getting the information and the knowledge you seek handed to you doesn't allow you to learn, it also tells us that if you don't try to learn for your self and branch out to new areas you've never reached before that you can't expand your knowledge and understanding on topics

The first part pushes me to value my time and not wait for the “perfect moment.” The second part motivates me to keep learning, stay curious, and never limit myself. It reminds me that knowledge lasts, and every skill I gain will help me throughout my life. This mindset is something I want to carry into my studies and future career.

The more you invest in it and yourself, the more your world grows.

The quote "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." from Franklin is poignant. It reminds me of the passage Proverbs 9:9:

"Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning." Even though Franklin was a Freemason, it stands to reason that his emphasis was on the fact that -- learning can be in vain if one isn't committed. One spends day after day subconsciously consuming information, collecting fragments in the mental ether. Do you remember the last short-form video you watched? I don't.

Make sure to differentiate the act of learning from the mindless consumption of knowledge. Then you can truly learn something.

It's lack of credible author communicates how board an audience this quote caters too and allows for it to resonate far more with the general public rather than sounding like an ultimatum from some detached higher power with no relevancy within the modern education system.

This quote illustrates the larger role university plays in the way we understand and learn. The quotes content separates university from secondary learning, casting away the memorization game of high school and exam structures in exchange for impactful resources and education on an independent level, allowing students to not only learn the content of their courses but to finally come to an understanding of what tasks are actually asking of you, and how to communicate what you already know.

After reflecting on each of these quotes, the one that inspires me most is “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn” by Benjamin Franklin. This quote stands out because it highlights the importance of active learning. I connect with the idea that real understanding comes from being engaged and fully involved in the learning process, rather than simply being told information. As someone who hopes to become a Physical Education teacher in the future, this message feels especially meaningful. It reminds me that the best learning happens through participation, experience, and hands-on practice—values I want to carry into both my own education and the way I teach others.

Learn as if you were to live forever" (Mahatma Ghandi)

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn" (Benjamin Franklin)

As a person with one sensory loss, both of these quotes resonate with me. I learn much better 'on the job' rather than being instructed and carpe diem, carpe noctem. Take each day and night as it comes, forget what tomorrow may bring and don't dwell on the past. This can also apply to learning at whatever institution you're in. So here I am, seizing my opportunity and hoping for the best.

The quote I have chosen is “Live as if you were to do die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever”. By Mahatma Ghandi. This quote sticks out for me as I have always told myself to live life as if I were to die tomorrow, and apart of that I have also always said I want to learn everything I can while I can. I feel as this quote is a right fit for my personality and morals. Quotes such as this helps me stay focused on my goals and reminds me how fortunate I am for being able to learn with the freedom I have so don’t take it lightly.

At first I considered that part time study equates to at least 2 hours of study a day... but then I realised that was limited thinking. In fact, it is actually possible to the best in your chosen field with only 1 hour of study per day. Especially considering if this consistency is maintained over a course of years. Imagine what we could all achieve in a lifetime? This quote gives me great hope and confidence.

Quote #8. This is a quote I would have as a desktop wallpaper or kept on a vision board. It's essentially a reminder that consistency beats inaction. As someone who struggles with perfectionism and an all or nothing mindset, with an already very busy life outside university, knowing that doing a bit consistently over time is better than perfect intensity is a great comfort and motivator.

I consider everyday I need to learn something new, if its not formal study, then its learning a language like French, or learning a new skill at work, whatever it is I try to incorporate learning every day.

I think this quote resonates with me because it applies to every area of life, not just education. Simple, consistent actions shape your reality. We become the product of our daily habits, whether they're good or bad. The key is to develop positive habits, keep the process simple, stay consistent, and trust the power of compounding over time. Small actions repeated every day can lead to extraordinary results.

“One hour per day of study in your chosen field is all it takes. One hour per day of study will put you at the top of your field within three years. Within five years you'll be a national authority. In seven years, you can be one of the best people in the world at what you do.” By Earl Nightingale, resonates with me the most. As someone who prides themselves in being persistent and hard working to achieve my goals this quote comments on how discipline trumps all. The most successful people I have ever known all have one thing in common, they all posses grit, for years they maintained consistency in their study of choice, no matter the struggle or any obstacle they may face. And by doing so they became the top of their field.

“Spoon feeding in the long run teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon.” (E. M. Forster). I think it's good to be reminded that learning is an active process. Although you can absorb some information passively, you will see the most benefits if you engage actively with the material and concepts you are learning.
