Personally, I believe that this group behavior is a good thing for animals who aren't as dominant as those on top of the food chain. This method helps smaller animals survive and balance out ecosystems so that larger animals don't take over everything. If I were living out in the wild, I would prefer to travel in groups too.

Animals traveling in groups became an adaptation since many years ago. Traveling in groups has scientifically proven that animals who do this are generally more safe than those who travel alone. Animals themselves noticed this and through natural selection, further generations continued this method of survival.

Animals travel in groups for many reasons, some of those being safety in numbers, camouflage, and more time to look for food. When these animals travel together, they are always looking out for each other and outnumbering predators making it hard for them to single out a specific individual. Also, having a large amount of animals together makes them blend visually making it hard for predators to choose their target. Finding food becomes easier when there are multiple animals helping each other out. While some of the pack goes out to look for food, the rest are looking out for any predators trying to sneak an attack.
