During the first week of preschool, we had to get familiar with the classroom and our classmates. At that time, I was shy around others and scared to leave my parent's wing. Still, kids in the class offered their hand of friendship to me and I took it. Soon, we got to know each other more and play around at recess as a group.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because it shows how my shy personality was overcome at the time by people I didn't even know who wanted to become my friend.

In August of 2017, I started my 7th grade year with no one to talk to in general. Most of the friends I made either left or rarely talk to me. Still, I had confidence that someone will pop up on the radar. In the next weeks, two boys who shared the same schedule with me allowed me to join them in class and at lunch. We shared common interests like basketball and other sports and slowly, we became the best of friends and still are till this day.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because it shows how that if you're left with nothing, something will always come along. My old friends left but new friends came along to help me.

During summer, my church had a camp program for the YOUTH group in late July. I rarely came to join the group on Saturdays which made it hard to learn names and get familiar. Fast forward to the camp, our group leader assigned us into four groups. I was a bit homesick and nervous going into it but when activities and games came, I had fun. My group was the youngest out of all the others and I think that's what helped us work and get through each day.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because it shows how I made friends by connecting with them by playing games and hanging out.
