There was little to none visual imagery that really made it seem staccato. Additionally, there were no transitions, when Rasenberger wanted to switch ideas, he would simply start a new section. This is not ok, since the words are copied exactly from the text and not put in quotation marks, I think. I need the text in hand to know for certain.

-Conventional wisdom has it that   the earth is the greatest sense of hope (pg. 115). Ditto Additionally, when we discuss conventional wisdom or common sense, there are common every day known truths, at least for a specific culture or society. WE all know that you shouldn't text and drive or drink and drive. These are not common sense in 1908 since cars were just invented and nobody drove commonly. It was probably conventional wisdom that the best cure for a hangover was a redeye, but this is not in the text. A redeye is a shot of tomato juice in a glass of beer, or a "nip of the dog that bit ya."

-Common sense seemed to dictate that it was known to wear white shirts with starched collars and ties (pg. 122).

that we should pass our possessions to the generations after us in better shape to keep forming a better world in the future. This quotes first and then explains, which is typical fashion for the Regents Exams of high school. NOW we are going to be introducing our quotes and prefacing them, so try to put the LAST sentence before the quote! or simply prepare us for what is coming...
