6^th Grade Social Studies will use Cornell notes, choral reading strategies, and responsive writing in the construction of a Mini-Q (utilizing secondary sources from varying perspectives) to teach the impact of interactions between people and the physical environment on the development and conditions of places and regions in order to: (1) allow students to fully explain and justify their thinking when responding to questions that demonstrate different levels of thinking, including questions requiring analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of information; (2) that allows students to demonstrate their learning by completing tasks that validate their ability to analyze, synthesize, and or/or evaluate new instructional content; and (3) that allows students to think critically about content and apply information learned to address a range of cross-disciplinary tasks.  Student work demonstrates creativity and originality. 

Sixth grade science will use ADI or a similar lab incorporating table talks and problem solving to compare and contrast potential and kinetic energy (6.8A) and explain how force and motion are related to the types of energy (6.8) while providing justification of their stated claim by graphing results and including evidence analysis and evaluation in the next two weeks.
