That video was really beneficial because of several reasons. First, I was listening to someone who talks with 37 years of experience. Second, he clearly explains why student center is more important to teacher center. He talks about students like different choices when they went to the cafeteria, so the teacher gets benefit, and he decides to add different choices and class activities to his classes, and he realize that his new idea have worked. Third, from his video indirectly we can understand that, it is really important to use teaching tools during classes such as, illustration tools, visualization, and so many other tools. Last but not least, he states that “LOVE” is really important in teaching. The teacher has to have love to his/ her subject of teaching and have a sacrifice love for students. In addition to that, the six “C” that ae very important in student center which are: choice, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and caring. All in all, as a teacher at the beginning of my career, I will save that video and watch it every week until becomes my way of teaching.

In the first two lectures, we talked about the 21st century soft skills and innovative ways for teaching. Many discussions happened during the sessions which were the most beneficial because we learn from other people experience. For instance, one of the teachers talk about a good method for teaching the students about class and university policies that have been used in one of the private universities in Sulaimanyah. She talks about having orientation one week before the classes start which will be beneficial for students in two ways. First: the students will be familiar about the university and classes polices. Second: the students will be familiar about the university camps, and will understand the point whenever they have a question or a problem to whom they have go.

Positive learning, however, cannot just happen on its own they must be created in schools and universities. In fact, a positive learning environment can be obtained by providing a safe and optimistic environment, creating a good relation with students, and giving value for each student. First of all, providing a safe and optimistic environment is one of the major requirements for affording a positive learning environment. Students should feel safe emotionally and physically when they ask a question or when they have different ideas in the class. When students feel comfortable in the class, diversity will occur which leads to innovation and high performance. Also, if students feel their teachers are optimistic, they will be optimistic too. In this case, failing in one exam or quiz, does not depress them. Otherwise, they will work harder optimistically and achieve their goals. In fact, safe and optimistic environment is not the only two innovative ways for achieving a positive learning environment. Second, as much as teachers want to drive in to class contents from the beginning of each year, it is very important to begin by establishing a good relationship with students. Take the time from the very beginning to make a great first impression with the class. In addition to that, utilize social media channels to connect with students. Also, by being forgiveness up to a certain limit and enjoying possibilities will make teacher and student connection stronger. Let them know that you value each student for what he/she has to offer. Teachers can make that by several easy tips, such as memorizing their names, asking each student about their strength and weakness, providing extra study sessions for those who need more time to learn, and giving them an impression that you care about them and their participation in class has value for you. To conclude, there are so many ways to provide a positive learning environment, but from my perspective three of them are the most important which are, providing a safe and optimistic environment, trying to know you students in a good way and make a strong relation with them, and the last one show your students that they have value and respect. This module was really useful because it teaches me several ways to assess students in an academic way. It is very important for teachers to assess and evaluate students with the best tool that fits the class subject and the students benefit. The assignment for this module was really creative which makes me to learn a lot from it and from my group members. The assignment was prepared by our group and it was about using field trip as an assessment tool. We know that field trip is very useful because most students enjoy it because it is kind of entertainments for them.  Additionally, they get benefit from it directly because it is a practical tool for learning. When teachers want to use an assessment to evaluate students, the teacher has to think about a way to evaluate the students that is very justice and fair. For example, for evaluating the students after the field trip, and making sure if the students get benefit from the trip, we as our group think about either assessing them with a presentation or a report about the field trip. This is where I got the most benefit from my group’s meetings and preparation sessions because each of us share his/her experience. We discussed about giving the students presentation or report, and which one will be the best selection. Three members of our group thinks giving them report will be better than presentation. On the other hand, the rest of the group thinks using presentation as an assessment tool will be more useful because through making the presentation students will learn many important topic. At the end, we decide on choosing presentation, because we think using report as an assessment tool will give students more chance to copy from each other. After that, the assignment required us to make a rubric for assessing and evaluating the assessment tool which we have chosen. Personally, I really enjoyed making the rubric because it was the first time for me to make a rubric. If the rubric is very detail, so it means the teacher is fair and students will fully and clearly understand the mistakes they did. Also, some other assessment tools were discussed and talked about by other groups which were very useful. For instance, lab experience and preparation of a report to asses students. In my opinion, assessment tools are real life learning because from these tools students will learn the most. I have learned that, what assessment the teacher will use, will directly affect students so, the teacher should be very aware and smart. For example, when teacher use field trip and then plan to evaluate students, that teacher have to prepare some requirements before the field trip in order to keep the students in a safe zone. Also, the teacher have to prepare an outline or overview about the assessment that he/she will use for the class in order the students will have a background and everything will be clear for them.  All in all, I have learned that teaching methods, learning environment and assessment tools in academic learning is very crucial and have direct relation with students motivation and learning.
