Many totalitarian leaders used violence and terror to hurt those who did not agree with them. A few examples of totalitarian leaders are, Joseph Stalin's rule over the USSR(Russia), Hitler's rule over Germany, Mussolini's rule over Italy, and Franco's rule over Spain. Many of these leaders would use propaganda which is one sided information, to make you believe what they believed. They also used a lot of religious and ethnic persecution.
