Athletes strive for perfection everyday by improving performance, modifying training load, increasing frequency of reps, and increasing intensity. Although athletes strive for this perfection, stress, injuries, school work, team issues, and coaches perceptions can get in the way and fog up the attempt to be perfect. I understand performance is important; however, the underlying issues that get in the way of performance intrigues me. In this study, where stress is compared between age groups 11-14 and 15-18 in club volleyball, environment, values and beliefs, and leadership will be studied. I will aim to find strong correlations between stress, nutrition, and sleep with performance. A VERT will be used throughout practices and arm speed will be tested each practice, along with a survey for coaches and athletes to answer questions before and after practice.
