My Family history starts in the United  States, with my great great great grandparents, Coraline(13) and Emmit Henton(15), married in the late  1800's. They had a shotgun wedding because my great great great grandmother got pregnant before marriage. Originating from California and having 9 kids they moved to Mississippi to raise them.

^{What were the obstacles that they met?}
 Moving to Mississippi to better their lives by farming they were met with two major struggles, poverty and lack of education. However times changed and as times changed so did our ability to gain access. Even though my ancestors came to the United States  from slavery I was born here in the united states as was my Mother and Father, and their Mother and Father.   
^{What was going on Historically in the U.S. during this time  and did it affect your family?}
America was on the cusps of the Emanation Proclamation and that was dangerous for black people. With the laws of the country stopping them from Jobs,  good neighborhoods, etc. halting their growth financially. My moms great great grandfather worked hard on a limited education and money. However in the South where we resided,  cotton gins provided jobs for those uneducated and Black.
