How would you feel if you were trapped in a tower and told to stay there or else you would be cursed and die?
The Lady of Shalott was isolated in a tower. Everyday she would look in the mirror to see the shadows of the real world. If she were to look out the window or go outside she would be cursed. One day she went outside and got cursed and died.
I would feel trapped and frightened because I don't want to accidentally look out the window and get cursed also I would just be in the same tower, same room everyday and every year.
No one would want to be put in the Lady Of Shalott's position because when she was looking at the mirror she saw that everyone was happy to be outside and they were enjoying them selfs when she was in the tower looking in a mirror to see outside.

This ballad is about the Lady of Shalott that is cursed and forced to be trapped in a tall tower. The Lady of Shalott was only allowed to look at the reflection of Camelot through her mirror, whiles weaving away. The Lady of Shalott finally leaves the tower to be free and sacrifice her life to do something she really wanted to do. Sadly on her way on the boat, she passed away. The Lady of Shalott just wanted to live by her own rules for once rather than watching others living their wonderful lives.

Intro - Depressed, trapped, and lonely, the poor girl wouldn’t have survived. The Lady of Shalott is a ballad about a girl trapped in a tower, she was cured with a spell that is unknown, all she does is weave a magical web. The poet presents the Lady of Shalott as a sad and depressed. Through the use of adjectives, metaphors and rhymes the poet portrays the Lady of Shalott as depressed and lonely.

PETAL - The Lady Of Shalott is lonely, depressed, obscenely bored and she wants to leave Shalott. We know this because during the poem she quotes 'I am half sick of shadows,' showing that she’s had enough and wants to leave Shalott, he then leaves the tower as written in part III of the ballad: She left the web, she left the loom, She made three paces thro' the room, She saw the water-flower bloom. The writer uses short sentences and repetition. When the writer wrote about the Lady Of Shalott leaving the tower, the writer uses short sentences to build up tension before the great relief. This paragraph should explain why the Lady Of Shalott is lonely, depressed, obscenely bored and she wants to leave Shalott.
