NEW HUNTER POLICY

This is the new, suggested monster hunter policy we'd like to employ based on stats and some discussion.

1) Any player who can kill a level 2 monster in 4 or less hits should only hunt level 2 or higher, unless it is to "balance out" energy usage (e.g. to use up bits of leftover energy from killing higher level monsters).

2) Any player who cannot kill a level 2 monster in 4 or less hits may choose to kill only level 1 monsters.

3) Required kills per day are: TWO level 2 monsters or EIGHT level 1 monsters. These take equivalent amounts of time to kill, and yield an equivalent quantity of gifts to the hunter. The quality of the gifts, of course, is higher for level 2 kills. For players wishing to hunt higher than level 2, it would be absolutely fine so long as the player killed his/her two level 2's each day as well (higher is in addition to the requirement).

Some say that the higher level kills (3, 4, & 5) don't benefit us as much in our gift count, which is important to recruiting. The same could be said for "too many level 1 kills." Should we be encouraging a specific level to kill? What can we then do to incentivize this?

Quick Summary - Data

Here's a super fast summary of what I learned from collecting hunter data...
1) We are actually hunting rather well for our size (we are earning around 350 gifts per day at present);

2) The transparency of the new hunter system, and our vigilance in recording and reaching out, has improved hunter gifts day by day, and it has reinforced our care for our members. It has also positively motivated some to hunt more effectively (given positive attention);

3) After doing a thorough look at guild gift samples, it is very clear that LEVEL 2 monsters yield the best guild gifts. This is especially true of RSS gifts. The only "contested" type of gift would be speed ups (e.g. you get about as many speeds with lvl 1 gifts as lvl 2), but there's no potential with lvl 1 gifts for 3hr speeds, so that tips the scale. This was tempered with discussion of individual energy use, gear, research levels, etc. This discussion is how the new policy was formulated.
