         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. In 1600 Leyasu defeated his rivals at the Battle of Sekigahara. He then became known as the daimyo though out Japan.<br>2. Three years after the battle, Leyasu became the Sole Ruler, or Shogun.<br>3. Leyasu moved the capital to his Power Base at Edo, a small fishing village that would soon become the city of Tokyo. By the mid 1700s Japan began to shift from a rural to an urban society. </div>]]></description>
