Avery: " Yo estoy bien."
John: "Que tiempo hace"

Avery: " El tiempo es bien."

Voy a la escuela los siete dias de la semana. Yo estudio matematicas, ciencias, historia y espanol en la escuela. Mi subjecto favorita son las matematicas. Yo estoy en dies grado en mi escuela. Yo vivo en una casa grande en Costa Rica. Yo tengo un grande jardin con venduras y frutas. Mi casa tiene dos pisos. Mi casa tiene nueve habitaciones.
Tengo una grande familia. Tengo dos hermanas, Madi y Anna. Tengo una madre, Ashton, y un padre, Wesley. Mi familia es muy inteligente. Yo mucho en mi tiempo libre. Me encanta leer libros, mi libro favorito es "Harry Potter". Me gusta jugar fútbol y baloncesto con mis amigos. También me encanta cocinar comida. La comida en Costa Rica es muy buena. A mi familia y a mí gusta comer arroz y frijoles. Me gusta hacer gallo pinto. Casado es mi comida Costa Rican favorita. Voy al supermercado con mi mamá. Voy a la tienda dos días a la semana. Me gusta comprar frutas y verduras. También me gusta comprar perfume y jabón y el supermercado.

Part Two - Speaking in Spanish:

Estados Unidos y Costa Rica son muy diferente. En Estados Unidos yo hablo inglés, en Costa Rica ellos hablo español. En los Estados Unidos la escuela es aburrida y mal. La escuela en Costa Rica es feliz y creativa. Las casas en Costa Rica son pequeñas. Y las casas en Estados Unidos son grandes. En Costa Rica tienen familias muy grandes. En los Estados Unidos las familias son más pequeñas. En Estados Unidos la comida es aburrida y no es buena para la salud. En Costa Rica la comida es muy buena y es más saludable. Los supermercados en Costa Rica son diferentes a los supermercados de Estados Unidos. Los supermercados en Costa Rica tienen comida más saludable, los supermercados en Estados Unidos tienen comida que no es saludable.

Part Three - Reflection in English:

I have noticed that there are more letters in the Spanish alphabet than in the English alphabet. There is also a difference in vocabulary. I have also noticed that Spanish is more free and there are different types of Spanish in different countries around the world. While there are strict rules for English and only really one type. What I found interesting about the Costa Rican culture is how they do not have any kind of military at all. I also found it interesting and exciting that the people in Costa Rica are so focused on what really matters to them which is there family and education. I hope to learn more about different Spanish speaking countries and cultures around the world and how their lives are different from mine in the United States. I quite enjoyed learning Spanish through an online course. But in my personal opinion I would prefer to learn in an in person class. I like in person classes better because you can do more hands on activities and interact more with your peers and teachers. But I did enjoy this course and it gave me a chance to learn and try more things that I might be uncomfortable with and I will be forever grateful to of had this wonderful opportunity and to broaden my horizons. Things that helped me in this course were to study and constantly practice my Spanish simply by looking and reading my notes or just doing a Duolingo lesson everyday. Some things I can do to improve my Spanish are to practice speaking with a fluent Spanish speaking person to help improve my Spanish and to learn from my mistakes. My instructor really helped me to better understand Spanish and to realize my mistakes and to do better the next time. No, there is nothing really my instructor did not help me with. She was always very nice and helpful and is an excellent teacher and has a good amount of experience.
