Cofins were designed to make sure that they are safe. Mummification is when they bury the dead. The bodies were buried in the desert underneath the sand. Bodies were mummified with linen strips soaked with resin. After the mummification process was over the bodies were placed in wooden or reed and the coffin sealed in a brick tomb.
