Tone: The tone is hopeful and melancholy because the author is recounting a lot of the old man's old memories, experiences, and impacts. It’s also determined because he keeps on repeating “Do not go gentle into that good night.”

Theme: The theme I think is to never give up, even when it’s death. I think this because it says to rage against the dying light. To keep fighting even when it’s hopeless.

The tone of this poem is dispair. The writer does not want his father to die and therefore is feeling sad. There is also some urgency in the poem for the same reason, the writer doesnt want his father to die. I think the theme of the poem is if you dont enjoy your life then death is bad but if you do enjoy your life then death is not so bad.

I think the tone of the poem is desperate. I think this because he constantly repeats the line “rage rage against the dying of light”. He’s desperately urging his father to fight against his death, because he doesn’t want to lose his dad. I think the theme of this poem is death. I think this because it keeps talking about different types of men coming to the ends of their lives.

The tone is urgent because though the author cannot do anything, he wishes his father does not go gentle, and that he rages against the dying light. The theme is that no man should leave this world easily, regardless of who they are which is expressed when the author talks about each man differently, but with the same conclusion.
