1. It is more important than ever for students and educators to have the technological skills necessary to thrive, not only in the classroom, but in the current and future time
2. Educators have a responsibility to use technology in the classroom in a way that enhances learning for all students, not just a certain group.
3. Technology used in classrooms today can be a practical tool to enhance teaching, however, it is a tool, it does not replace the entire teaching/learning experience.

According to Plough (2017), it is a matter of social justice for educators to incorporate technology in the curriculum and prepare students to compete for career opportunities grounded in technology. I was surprised by this statement because I had not pondered on the effects of the use of technology in the classroom with social justice.

I agree with Kayla Scheer’s statement during the TedX On Demand Learning in the 21st Century Classroom talk. At the end of her presentation she states, “…don’t give students an education, make them want to take it.”

Although I do agree with Scheer’s reasoning and explanations as to why technology in the classroom is advantageous, I don’t agree with her statement about books being “boring.”
