Currency (Feudalism)
Ts) In Feudal Europe, the currency was rotated around their food source.

1) Type of Government
This system was called Feudalism, and it was unfair not only because it was a monarchy, but for the fact that it made most of the population serfs (Cartwright).

2) Power Displacement
The power from the feudalism system was mostly based on the ownership of land and being a serf at the bottom means they probably didn't own a lot of land. That made it hard to feed themselves and families, causing starvation (Cartwright; Greenblatt and Lemmo).

3) Rebellion of Feudalism
Some of the peasants and serfs worked on manors, the Lord's land, while others worked on their own land that they were given, because they fought in a war (Cartwright). The peasants were paid while the serfs were not, making the serfs angry, causing them to revolt. The serfs started to form unions and run away from their manors (Cartwright). This is the main reason that feudalism was a challenge for Feudal Europe

Technology HEALTH CARE (Black Plague)

Ts) In feudal Europe, health care was a real challenge for the Europeans with the plague.

1) Beginning of Plague
The black plague Struck Europe and Asia around the 13th century causing more than half, roughly 60%, of the population to die ("Black Death").

2) How it was brought to Europe
The disease was most likely carried by twelve ships that were docked in Messina. With all of the sailors dead or deathly ill, the sailor's bodies were covered in black boils that oozed blood and puss ("Black Death").

3) Mode of transportation
There were no cures for the plague, but some thought it was spread through the air, but some thought it was a punishment from God. It was actually from a bite from an infected rat or a mosquito ("Black Death"). The rats were found on boats, making the disease spread easier through trade to Syria, China, Persia, and Egypt ("Black Death").

Ts) Feudal Europe exceeded other civilizations with their technology in knight armor and castles.

1) Representing family
The sleeveless surcoat was worn to show their family's coat of arms instead of having the chain-mail cover the whole body besides the face.

2) Armor Advancements
The plate armor was mostly used in the 14th century and it was the most advanced armor there was. The plate armor was the lightest armor (Cartwright). It protected the body more from arrows and sword blows. It was held together by laces making it stay together easier by inter-twining over each other (Cartwright).

3) Kings Castles
Castle windows were inlaid with iron grills to keep intruders out. Kings placed motes around the castle to prevent enemies from attacking (Gravett). The motes would prevent this by making attacks harder for the enemy because they could not tunnel under the walls attacking the inside of the castle (Gravett).

TRADE AND ECONOMY

Ts) Trade was a big part of Feudal Europe to provide food for the people.

1) Trade Routes
Feudal Europe traded by boat and sea because it was cheaper and safer, but it still was endangered by bad weather and pirates (Cartwright). They traded on the Mediterranean Sea (Cartwright).

2) The Markets
The trade goods were sold at markets on the sides of wide roads (Cartwright). The markets were also set up around castles or monasteries. Twice a week, there would be a daily market that had better goods containing, meat, fish, and bread. The women sold chicken, eggs, and ale (Cartwright). To get the best goods, the Europeans had to walk to the nearest towns where they bought clothing, wine, or any other exported good (Cartwright).

3) Trade accomplices
The Crusades made the Byzantines interested in Feudal Europe's trade goods (Cartwright). The Byzantines found that the Flander's wool was exceptional and traded with them (Cartwright).

Education

Ts) In Feudal Europe, the school system for knights was a big success for Europe.

1) Becoming a Knight
The Knights started their schooling around 7-10 years old (Cartwright). The Knights at this age were called Pages. They were taught to fight with mock weapons, hunt, and learn how to ride a horse (Cartwright).

2) Squire and a real knight
The next phase after a Page is the Squire. The Squire started at age 14 and started to use real weapons and study chivalry. Chivalry was the idea of being a gentleman by having manors and being loyal. At 18, the Squire was moved up to the final stage of learning to be a knight. The knight then had to go to a ceremony called Dubbing.

3) Dubbing

Dubbing was the ceremony of becoming a knight. It was when a knight wore a white tunic and a white belt (Cartwright). They also wore black or brown socks to represent the earth, and they wore a scarlet cloak to represent that he was ready to spill his blood for his baron (noble or lord) and church (Cartwright). The knight got blessed by the priest and handed his horse, sword, and shield (Cartwright).

All of this concludes that Feudal Europe's armor advancements for knights and the rules of chivalry, which people still try to follow today. This makes Feudal Europe the best civilization. Although they did have a lot of challenges with the black plague and feudalism, the successes definitely outweighed the challenges.
