         <description><![CDATA[<div>"Odysseus and his men sail to Aeolia, where Aeolus, king of the winds," (Homer 969) Odysseus visits the god of winds. "Circe informs him that in order to reach home he must journey to the land of the dead," (Homer 969) In this episode the plot point is the crossing of the threshold . "Now came the soul of Anticlea, dead," (Homer 972)  The Greek value is death because he sees his mom in the underworld. Odysseus shows great strength in this episode. </div>]]></description>

(Homer 962)  The cyclops dishonors the Greek value of hospitality by eating his visitors. "So three sheep could convey each man"(Homer 964) Odysseus shows great leadership. (Homer 983) Odysseus' men dishonored the Greek value of the Gods. "O Father Zeus and gods in bliss forever, punish Odysseus men!" "A poor show... bad business you know they come in many forms to keep an eye on the mortals." (Homer 1002) Greek value is the gods. "No plain, no burden for the heart when bows come to a man, and defending his own cattle. (Homer 1002) He is showing loyalty to his kingdom by defending his cattle. </div>]]></description>

Role of the gods: Odysseus use my power to discuss yourself and see it for yourself...”(Homer) Athena has made Odysseus look like a beggar so that he can enter the kingdom in noticed or recognized by the suitors.<br>2. Plot Point: Odysseus must find a way to kill the suitors and take back his thrown, but to do this he must shoot an arrow through multiple axe handles and hit a target no one besides Odysseus can do this.<br>3. Greek Value: “We all understand why your mad...”(Homer) The Greek value here is honor, not one of the suitors was honorable of king Odysseus rules in his kingdom and they must pay<br>4. Characteristic: “Such a beggar couldn’t complete a task like this...”(Homer)Odysseus Uses his physical strength to strong the bow and shoot an arrow through axe handles. He was the only one able to string the bow and successfully complete the task.</div>]]></description>

In this episode she is hiding Odysseus identity.<br>2. Plot Point: “Telemachus grab your spears...”(Homer)Odysseus has discovered that the suitors are bad people that show disrespect. Odysseus must take his thrown and kill all the suitors and show no mercy.<br>3. Greek Value: The Greek value here is Hospitality, this was violated in this chapter and the suitors really got taught a lesson for disrespecting his home.</div><div>4. Characteristic: “Odysseus we will repay you with all you’ve lost and more...”(Homer) The Characteristic in this chapter is Physical strength, Odysseus has to use his brute force to kill the suitors and succeeds with ease.</div>]]></description>

Plot Point: “Odysseus, I had a suitor move our bed...”(Homer)Penelope must test Odysseus because she doesn’t believe it’s him, so she says that someone had to move there bed and only her and Odysseus know of the bed that can’t be moved. Odysseus freaked out and instantly she knew it was him.<br>3. Greek Value: “Odysseus I knew you would return...”(Homer)Honor was shown in this chapter, it was shown by Penelope who stayed loyal to Odysseus and never thought about forgetting him.<br>4. Characteristic: Penelope has used intelligence to figure out if Odysseus was real or not. She had to do this because he had changed from a beggar to a king right in front of her.</div>]]></description>

"Many long nights without him has me longing for him." (Homer 1001) The Greek value in this episode is loyalty because Penelope stays loyal to him. "He is alive and well and is headed homeward now." (Homer 1005) The characteristic shown is hope. Penelope is hoping that Odysseus is returning soon. </div>]]></description>
