I saw first hand how critical it was for my students to see themselves and what is possible in the classroom and in schools. I've seen the difference a head teacher can make when they say 'I grew up where you grew up' - it enables connection with parents and the community on a much deeper level. We still have too little representation especially at leadership levels in the UK

Because we live in a world that is diverse. As a society we need to move away from thinking (and living) in the binary so we can start to see how much diversity has to offer and how much better it can make us as a society.

To be more concret: DEI is important for TFA because we need this representation for the next generations to come, so they can feel seen and heard and become the leaders we need so we can save the planet, live in unison and start learning from each other.
