The Upper Class was made up of the emperor, his court, and scholars who held government position. They usually had a lot of money but sometimes the lower class had more money because they work harder.

Lower class

The lower classes were made up of peasants who were the largest class. They were poor farmers lived on countryside. Artisans were people who produced items for daily life. Merchants were the lowest class and didn't produce anything. ( Lowest Caste )

Rights & Responsibilities

There were different rights and responsibilities for different people. An example of a rights was for peasants could own land because they were farmers and a responsibility was that they had to pay taxes on the land. Merchants were allow to sell things, but the merchants did not produce the things that they sold. It was their responsibility to not claim the objects as their on work. Artisans were people were people who produce items, and goods for every day life. They were allowed to make and sell things. Their Responsibilitiy was to make items for Merchants. If your social status was higher than you had a more rights.

Leadership

The leadership in China always changed because each emperor at the time had different rights and responsibilities. For example, some emperors had trust in their Peasants or Artisans, while other emperors didn't trust them and gave them less rights.
