He did die from a head wound and you can't see any other bruises because he is fully clothed, but that doesn't really matter for what caused his death. There´s also food cooking in the background which it´s very odd for her to come back, not atleast say hi to her husband, and start just immediatly cooking. She only invited her friends over for drinks, not food.
