Narmer ruled this time period. In this period, kings were depicted as very brutal, showing smiting scenes or the slaughter of prisoners of war. There were also not many monuments found in this time period.

~Old Kingdom Period from 2650 - 2150 BCE~

This period was ruled by Djoser and Khufu. Some kings could help make different pyramids. Djoser made his vizier and his architect build a stepped monument.

~Middle Kingdom Period from 2040 - 1640 BCE~

Amenhotep III, Amenhotep IV (Akhnaton), Hatshepsut, Ramses II, Ramses III, Tutankhamun, and Thutmose III all ruled this time period at one point. The New Kingdom was known as the “Empires Age” because there were so many different rulers. They used foreign allies to help guard themselves.

~Saite and Late Period from 712 - 642 BCE~

The leaders of this period were foreign leaders. The Saite kings emulated that they followed the traditions. But it also was the first time Egypt was ruled by foreign leaders.

~Greco Roman Period from 332 BCE - 642 CE~

Cleopatra Vll was the ruler of this time period. Life for the Egyptians expectancy dropped while the Romans ruled.
