He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. Elvis was raised by his two parents as an only child with little money to live off of. Many of his family lived close by. He attended the Assembly of God Church with his parents where he began to have a love for gospel music. Elvis' first public show, consisting of singing "old shep" was at a fair and he got fifth place earning $5. As he turned 11, he received a guitar from his mother. Elvis was privileged enough to win his high school talent show.

Lots of people loved Elvis for his unique sense of music style. He started to gather fans in 1955. Also, he signed with RCA Records with the help of his manager. Elvis began to not only sing but also starred on a number of television shows. He ended up being sent to Germany for war. At the time his dear grandma died. Elvis left the army in 1960 and presumed his music career. Elvis was presented with many awards including grammy awards and also in many hall of fames.

Unfortunately their marriage was falling to a divorce. After the divorce, his wife received full custody of Lisa. 
Later, he started to get involved with drugs. He was admitted to a hospital. Elvis was also struggling with his weight gain. Even with all this, he continued his career of singing.

I still wonder how he was introduced on the stage.
