I am originally from Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I went to college in Worcester and have been in Boston for the last 6 years. I teach SEI Math 2 and MCAS Retest Prep at Brighton High School (2nd year). I did TNY through an AmeriCorps program called Citizen Schools and finished in 2016. I am looking forward to implementing a new curriculum and bringing in more authentic speaking tasks for my classes.

I am living in Boston for five years now (tomorrow the 12th), and I'm in my second year at the Timilty Middle School in Roxbury. I teach ESL to L3, L4, and L5 students across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The students are a hoot. They teach me about different kinds of food. Pupusas or baleadas, anyone? We talk about soccer quite often. It's always nice to see that light bulb moment when something actually makes sense to a student, and he or she internalizes the lesson.
