The 2018 FIFA World Cup is a international football match which happens only once every 4 years. This was the 21st World Cup and it was held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. It was the first World Cup to be held in the Eastern Europe, and was the most expensive World Cup. It was also the first World Cup to use the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). The finals involved 32 teams with Iceland and Panama made their first appearances at the World Cup. The final match was between France and Croatia which turned out 4-2 for France and claiming their second World Cup 2018 title with the first one being in 1998 when France won Brazil 3-0 in the final match. The Fifa World Cup is a big event with lots of emotions were people cry of sadness but also cry of happiness.This event happens only once every 4 years so next time when its happening i insure you that you will not be wasting your time and you will remember this glorious moment.

On January 3, was announced that At&T was planing on releasing a fifth generation network service later this year. The goal for the 5G is to be faster and more efficient than the current best network service (4G). The 5G would be first introduced to these 5 cities Houston, Jacksonville,Louisville, New Orleans and San Antonio.

On November 3 a 21 year old driver lost his control of the car in Wisconsin and striked a group of scout girls that were cleaning the trash from the side of the road. Three girls and a mother were killed and another girl injured. The passenger and the driver were allegedly inhaling a computer cleaner at that moment.

On November 22 was a shooting in a mall in Alabama, when people were casually shopping and getting their early Christmas presents and a gunman opened fire at 10 pm at Riverchase Galleria. When the police arrived it actually had mistaken the gunman and shot a innocent man. Police said that he allegedly carried a gun but he was a former U.S Soilder.

On May 20, Florida man Otis Dwayne Ryan made a very public scene in Clearwater that resulted in his arrest. Ryan was hanging out near a park and randomly approaching tourists to make inappropriate comments to women. While a police officer stood by watching, Ryan then walked into a busy playground and climbed on top of one of the children's toys. He went on a vulgar rant explaining how babies are born while surrounded by young children. As parents began rushing to the playground to remove their kids, police arrested Ryan. As punishment for his actions, Ryan was forced to pay a $118 fine and ordered to stay away from the park in the future.

On March 13, at the age 76, a scientific legend Stephen Hawking died peacefully at his home. Stephen Hawking was a English scientist, cosmologist and a theoretical physicist. He was also a professor and was known for his so called Hawking radiation. The Hawking Radiation is a blackbody radiation that is predicted to be released by black holes, due to quantum effects near the event horizon. An Event Horizon is a region in space time or a point of no return in a small radius. Its been told that the gravity at that small radius is so strong that nothing can leave after entering not even light. On May 8 Uber signed a second Space Act Agreement with NASA to develop models that will simulate urban air mobility service.
Under the agreement, Uber will provide NASA with details and data on its plans for a flying taxi service, which the agency will use to simulate flights over Dallas-Fort Worth. This data will address scenarios involving air traffic, collision mitigation, and air space management. It is NASA’s first such agreement related to urban air mobility.

On May 15, Amazon announced that it will open stores without checkout lines in Chicago, California,Illinois, Seattle, Washington and San Francisco. The pilot store for Amazon Go was in Seattle. The store has prepared foods, meal kits, limited groceries, and liquor available for purchase. According to a promotional video published by Amazon, the store concept uses several technologies to track people by their body build and what item they pick up. Customers must download the Amazon Go app, which is linked to their Amazon account, before shopping at the store. The app allows users to add others to their Amazon account, so kids purchases can be charged to the same bill. The ceiling of the store has multiple cameras and store shelves have weight sensors, to detect which items a customer took. If a customer takes an item off the shelf, it will be added to the person's virtual cart. If a customer places an item back on the shelf, it is "taken out" of the virtual cart.

On February 6, it was announced that Amazon was worth more than $685 billion, making the company worth more than Microsoft for the first time ever. But on October 31 was Amazon worth almost 1 trillion but quickly lost 120 billion dollars in just 2 trading days. Amazon was nearly the second U.S. company worth $1 trillion after Apple thats worth on the last reporting day of October 31 around 1.3 trillion dollars. But now is Amazon worth around 714 billion.
