I have pre-recorded lectures for each of the contemporary artist mini-lessons I do with my Ceramics 2 classes. I used loom to record and edit each of these lectures. I decided to turn on of these videos into an Edpuzzle. There are multiple choice questions throughout the video and reflection question at the end that asks students to respond to the artist's work.

I decided to turn this loom video into an Edpuzzle to get some experience with creating a more interactive experience for asynchronous students. During an in-person lesson I would engage the students in a conversation about the artist and their work after introducing them and showing them a video about their work. I usually also pair the video with a short canvas quiz to make sure they were watching the video. The Edpuzzle can keep asynchronous students engaged with the questions spread throughout the video, and I've added a reflection question at the end so that they can reflect on how they feel about the artist and their work. Their responses to the reflection question also double as a survey of which artists the students have been interested in, which helps me to decide on what kinds of artists I should introduce in the future based on student interest.

I've also recently started incorporated canvas discussion boards this semester for my throwing unit. Most of this unit is based on practice and effort since throwing is such a hard skill to master. This semester I have students using the discussion board to reflect on their experience after every three throwing sessions. They can also pose questions on the discussion board. I ask them to then respond to at least one peers' post and provide them with some questions to help guide their peer comments. I provide feedback and respond to the questions they pose on the discussion board as well.

This is a high leverage topic on the Algebra 1 Keystone exam so it is important to collect formative assessment data throughout this unit. I decided to choose a variety of formative assessment tools to keep things fresh for students. I decided to include game-based learning tools, discussion boards, instructional based tools and polls.

It's well done - extremely informative, very interesting to watch, and will hold the attention of a 10th grade student for 4-5 minutes. In the classroom we determine the origins of bones based on their characteristics and this does a nice job of highlighting the same things we would do in person. I like that it is short. I have found that anything over 10 minutes is an automatic turnoff to students. I also always tell my students that I will not reset their scores. They can go back and re-watch something before answering a question if they need to but once they complete the EdPuzzle, that's it. I found otherwise they multi-task, don't do well and ask you to reset.

I developed this form when we first started virtual learning. I asked students to complete this form each time after checking their answers from the previous homework assignment. The form requires students to reflect on the error(s) made in one problem from the assignment and prompts them to make suggestions about how I can help them more with that particular concept.
