This studio attracted wealthy patrons, and most of the pictures that I took were about the nations leaders and foreign dignities. The camera had become an exciting new way to document people and events which is exactly what I did. In my shop I had tons of daguerreotype photos and saw that they were the easiest and most popular so I sold cases with these miniature pictures in it. When the civil war struck it brought me fame and dignity which is what I deserved after how much I have worked and studied. My life was also changed negatively. When my business was not doing well, I didn't know why because I thought my work was well done and put a lot of time into it. But after I realized that people did not want to see their past and what they have been through.
